Pitt beat Memphis tonight 70-51. This Panther team is going to be a force to be reckoned with this season. They're 6-0 and ranked #12. They are stacked. GOOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!

pitt looked like they always do. good team defense. good passing. good toughness and strength. i still question depth and also their outside shooting. they win by making the game ugly, but once again i do not think that will get them to the final four b/c better teams w/ good coaching will figure out a way to win ugly.

memphis on the other hand looked terrible. nobody ever looks good against pitt b/c of their style of play, but it was more than that w/ the tigers. they did not pass. they played defense once every 5 minutes. they took terrible terrible shots. john calipari is not doing a very good job it seems. memphis will not be a tournament team.

ok st. vs syracuse was another defensive battle at MSG last nite. pretty good game until the final couple minutes when the cowboys figured out the orange's 2-3 zone. ok. st will be in the hunt once again this year and could make it back to the final four for the second year in a row. eventhough syracuse lost, i still think they will give teams fits in the tournament w/ their 2-3 zone defense. i am also a big fan of gerry mac and hakim warrick. those guys will thrive on the big stage in march.
