NOTES: Dear District #3-(AAA) girls' basketball schools:
Bishop McDevitt, which has held sole possession of the No. #1 spot in these rankings, lost this week to Carlisle. We'll admit that the Thundering Herd is a scrappy bunch that always finds a way to score (notice their appearance) on the Class (AAAA) list. But, seriously, the Crusaders are supposed to be the real deal. There's just something missing -- some element of ever-elusive chemistry -- that is preventing them from playing at a high level.
Yet if you glance up at the list, you'll notice once again that McDevitt is at the top of your division.
Palmyra, did you think you deserved to jump up after beating Tulpehocken and Northern Lebanon last week? Please. Boiling Springs hasn't lost since Dec. 10th to Trinity, but it also hasn't played a truly great team since Dec. 10. Susquehanna Twp. has been inconsistent at times and has talent. Lancaster Catholic does, too, as it showed by knocking off Delone.
But the point is this -- your division is there for the taking, even if you're not on the list. Playoffs begin in a month and this year is open to any team over .500.
And your classification might be the most exciting of them all.
