Where's El Moldo and rest of Pitt bashers?

All the Pitt bashers are quick to come on here after Pitt loses at St. John's but I doubt we will hear anything from El Moldo and company about Pitt beating UConn. The Panthers went into a very difficult environament and beat the 13th ranked Huskies. What was even more impressive is that Pitt trailed by as much as 17 points in the first half.

People were too quick to write off Pitt after their losses to Bucknell, Georgetown, and St. Johns. These are all D1 teams with good talent. Pitt is relatively young. They had to replace two players who were greatly responsible for over 100 wins. Currently the Panthers start two sophomores and the best guard off the bench is a freshman and the best forward off the bench is a sophomore. Give them time. Don't judge them until tournament time.

El-Moldo is here. Why shouldn't he be. His team won. Where's Austin? He's the one who took a double hit today. He admitted he hates Pitt and roots against them. Plus Pitt beat his favoritist team ever, the Uconn Huskies. Suddenly, I got a hankering for some Doublement gum!

sorry i have better things to do on a saturday nite than sit online and post about college basketball....

uconn played like pure hell most of the game by my standards. pitt always brings out the worst in them. i cannot remember a game where i thought uconn played well against them. i guess that is a credit to pitt's style and attitude. chevy troutman played a good game. uconn's big men were simply not agressive enough.

in the first half, uconn really wasnt playing well. pitt just left andersen open for a lot of 3's. in the second half, pitt shut him down and uconn's big men were not up to the task. josh boone plays very poorly when he gets in foul trouble like he was in last nite. although, if rudy gay makes that open 3 w/ 30 secs, which i would expect him to make 80% of the time, we may not be talking about a uconn loss.

that win basically saved pitt's season....beating the REIGNING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS will do that.

I must have watched a different game. UConn was shooting over 50% and making Pitt look like a JV team. Granted Anderson's 3's were mostly of the wide open nature, but that doesn't happen by accident. I haven't seen UConn play that much this year, but I'd venture to say that their first 15 minutes was their best basketball of the season.

i have watched/listen to uconn play that much...

the reason uconn jumped out to a big lead was due to pitt's inablility to defend the 3 and the post entry pass. uconn wasn't getting back in transition defense. they werent rebounding to the level they have all year. they were not passing the ball as effectively as they had in their recent games.

pitt tightened up in the second half and the open looks which uconn had been getting were not there.

game is over now. uconn will learn from it and move on.
