Re: Bedford and Bellwood
I have no problem with Bedford winning at something, but lets not kid yourselves and make it sound like it was a great victory. Bellwood isn't exactly what you would call a track powerhouse. It's always good to remain humble.

Re: Bedford and Bellwood
actually bison, bellwood does usually have a pretty good team, but i do agree that it's good to be humble, one win doesn't automatically place you at the igloo meet, the boys will have to have some good times, marks, hieghts, etc... to finish in the top 5
The Flyers are just like the Titanic. They both look good until they hit the ice

Re: Bedford and Bellwood
This is the first year in a while that Bellwood isn't among the elite. They still are fielding a decent team from what i've saw in the paper. The traditonally are pretty close to being a powerhouse. But yes, humble is good for any team.

Re: Bedford and Bellwood
Actually, the point DIFFERENTIAL is not that big when you think about it. At first glance it appears that 28 points is a lot, but it is really only 14 points. This is because there is a set total of possible points to score (150). If Bellwood had scored 14 points more (giving them 75) Bedford would have scored 14 points less (giving them 75).
You can break down 14 points in a number of ways:
1 first place and 3 second places,
1 first place 2 second places and 3 third places,
2 first places and 4 third places,
4 second places and 2 third places,
et cetera.
The point is that while it is a convincing win, the point DIFFERENTIAL was probably the result of 4 to 6 Bedford performances that were better than Bellwood's. This is out of 48 possible places in the events (15 events x 3 places = 45 places + 3 relays = 48 places).
In short, congratulations to Bedford on a good win against a tough competitor, but I don't think talk of "domination" or high point DIFFERENTIAL is appropriate. Save that for when you score 100 points or more. THAT is domination in a track meet.

Well Jolly Green excuse me for my typo
I'm not the best typer in the world and i'm sure you've made some mistakes as well in your days
Bisons I believe should place in the igloo meet
We didn't do as best we could at Bellwood for some reason. Maybe just because it was the first meet I don't know but. It wasn't are full potention

Re: Bedford and Bellwood
If I recall, team scores are not kept in the Igloo Meet in Altoona. What a lousy weather day for the meet, too.
