Let's do some math:

18 for 27 from 3 point range got WVU 54 points.

18 of 27 from 2 point range would've only gotten WVU 36 pts.

Thus, WVU shot as if they were a perfect 27/27 from 2 pt range.

Kinda make it look like shooting the 3 is worth it!!

Too bad WVU couldn't guard my dead grandmother.

AHH, but they didn't shoot a perfect 27 for 27. Because of that you have to consider who got those rebounds from the shots they missed during the game. If the opposing team got them, then that's like a WVU turnover in a sense. Shooting the 2 gives the team with the ball more of a chance for that offensive rebound. Firing away from beyond the circle cuts down that chance.

*** RESPECT IS EARNED NOT GIVEN ***

The book says play for the tie, and if you lose in OT it's bad luck.
But play for the victory in regulation and lose? You're a bad coach
