Boring and a lack of quality information, and more often than not biased towards the school in it's name. But controversy would be the last thing people would want...even if it would be a good read. People are afraid to state their opinions because they're afraid they may make someone mad...who cares, it's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Dang right, the Gazette needs to get more editorials or something and spice that paper up a little bit.

And referring to the guru's article, he doesn't care what he says and he cares less about what people will think about it. Unfortunate as that is, you could argue all you want but it won't make a difference. But besides that article, there will always be shots fired back and forth between basketball and wrestling. But I do agree that a comment like that in a paper isn't right because not everyone writes an article to be published in a paper such as that.

I agree that everyone is entitled to an opinion. However, his article wasn't an opinion article. I agree with his opinion that "able" hunters should be walking and not riding 4-wheelers. When you write

"No question in my mind if the kid wrestled instead of playing basketball, he probably wouldn't be too lazy to walk. Hey, I calls 'em as I sees 'em."

That's just a bunch of crap. That's my opinion. I calls 'em like I sees 'em too. Like he says in his article - if anyone sees themselves in that letter, I hope they mend their ways.

The NBC coach still mad that he never got the 2 best athletes that will ever grace his school to wrestle? He still mad that when you say "Northern Bedford" people say "Hey isn't that where the Nastasi's went?"? It is sad really, wrestlers have inferiority complexes I think. You don't see basketball players always trying to down wrestling, they support it, but wrestlers always feel the need to talk about basketball. I think it's funny.

This will always be a very touchy subject throughout years to come. People believe that wrestlers are "Real Men" and basketball players are just boys who just can't make the wrestling team. Each sport has its own demands. Yes wrestling is ONE on ONE and basketball is a TEAM sport. What does it matter whether these kids that were riding ATV's instead of walking during hunting season. I'm sure that if everyone was given an ATV when he/she purchased their license then everyone would be riding (be honest). We all have a right to freedom of speech!! This was one person's opinion. We are all entiltled to them. Let's just let it go and enjoy this year's wrestling season. It should be an interesting one!!!

Sports999, tell me if you have ever heard these comments:

"Wrestlers are queers"
"Wrestlers like to roll around with other guys in tights"
"Wrestlers like to touch each other"

I've heard those ones come out of the mouths of basketball players plenty.

And the Nastasis wrestling, that's a joke! They might have been mediocre wrestlers, but they were no Dustin Swindells, balls out, coming at ya, gonna crush ya on the football field. They were weiners. Deion Sanders types. I was proud of the success of the Nastasi boys and I respect them, but they wouldn't have made wrestlers.

I didn't just write that in the Bedford Gazzette. I wasn't paid for that post. I'm entitled to my opinion aren't I? I watched them play football and I'm just another one of those wrestlers making the derogatory comments towards the basketball players. I'm just practicing for when I write for the Gazzette.

Wrestling rules. Just ask a football player which practice is harder and what season gets him in the best shape? I like this topic, gets emotional, even 4him is pumped up. Get em 4him.

You better believe I'm pumped. Very few ballers could live a day in a wrestlers shoes. I've heard it from some of the best basketball players, basketball converts, and even NCAA basketball players: they don't want anything to do with a wrestler or wrestling. You wanna shoot some hoops in the sauna, while someone ripping your nose off and trying to make your foot touch your head, all on the 4 crackers that you have eaten in the past 2 days.
