First off...respect is earned not given. Seems like you and vman have a hard time grasping that concept. The both of you yearn to be mentioned in the same breath as Forest Hills and Tyrone as the elite programs of the area.

First off, before I give my opinion on this, let me say that I respect what McCort has done over the past three years. I really think Coach Salem and Coach Jones has turned the McCort program from a team that had a few superstars that won games, into a team what knows how to win championships. On the same hand, I think McCort has had some pretty awesome classes come through in the past couple years. Not just talented kids, but gritty kids who played every down very hard...which I respect greatly.

Back to the point. Both Tyrone and Forest Hills have been winning championships longer. It is one thing to have a good run, and it is another thing to win over a long span of 20 years. Do I think McCort is capable of this, yes. Will they? I guess we'll see. Whose to say that McCort won't fall off the map like BC? One thing that can directly effect a private school is the success of a public school. Ask yourself this. What would happen if Glennon turns Westmont (or Bailey at Richland) into a solid program? Maybe one or two more kids go to Westmont (or Richland) instead of McCort. Now those two kids are the difference between being over .500 every year(McCort until 2001) and winning championships(McCort now). This would be an area where private schools have a disadvantage. What if kids decide to stop coming? Again...ask Coach Sponsky about his overall talent level lately.

How about we talk State Playoff wins. Again...McCort has a lot of work to do.
Tyrone: 7 (Help me out EagleAlum)
Forest Hills: 6
McCort: 0

Plus both Forest Hills and Tyrone have a State Title game appearance...Tyrone with winning it...Forest Hills with a triple overtime loss.

These are reasons why the OG still thinks Tyrone's and FH's program are above McCort’s. For now anyways.

So why beg for respect when you are on your way to earning it? The last 3 classes of seniors actions speak louder and any words on this message board ever will.

How many professional athletes has Tyrone and FH produced? If you want to talk about history....

and beg? If BM hasn't earned your respect by now, it never will!

I think this topic was amusing considering Tyrone hasn't been able to talk about football all off-season since '04.

Did McCort produce any team championships while those future "professionals" played?

Sending players to professional leagues isnt much history if you ask me. Id much rather see state championships up on a wall than a name from an underachieving team.

I never said anything about not respecting McCort. I however agree with OG; They may get there in a matter of a few years, but the body of work isn't the same yet.....BTW, OG you were pretty accurate, Tyrone is either 7-6 or 8-6 depending on how you look at state playoff games. they beat Bedford in 1995 in an interdistrict game before they combined dis 5/6 the next year.

WOW, fh underachieves.......again......and I have difficulty grasping the concept of respect?? And believe me, I have no yearning to be mentioned in the same breath as fh......h311, we've had dissension, mail box gate, quitting on teammates, fudging #'s for numerous yrs in effort to avoid AAA status, 3-7, home playoff losses,etc.....and fh won 2 for last 7 vs tyrone & has won 4 of his last 12vs BM (in most yrs BM has been A & fh AAA like)....that's 6 wins in last 19 big games you've played!!! A 31% record???? And I want mentioned in same sentence......hey, if you add in the home playoff loss to Central (which should qualify as a big game) that winning % has to be less than 30 %...BUT HEY WE (fh) were awesome in 1976 & 1989 & 1993...enough of the ancient history lessons!

No one is begging for respect Op....it's earned!!

WRONG!!

I guess if you count only the games you list as "big games" then FH is 30%. Let's say BM's only big games have been the state playoff games the last 3 years, in which they are 0-3. That's 0%. Maybe we'll throw in the 2005 D6 champ. loss to FH, still 0%. Maybe FH fans will start using statistics that benefit them like you try to do Vman..
