Why does everyone have to bash Heights about their success? When has anyone from Cambria Heights came on here and talked smack? Never, look back at Somerset last year, no one came on here pounding there chest. Yet people like you have to bash them and immediately point out that Mccort will meet them again. I guess when someone who usually isn't suppose to do well that its easy to bash and belittle them.

Looks like I was wrong...Good win for Heights...as syd said, a regular season win at home and I haven't seen Vescovi, just heard about him...Obviously an athletic player who is 6'7" can cause problems...I will be curious to see how Heights performs come the LHAC Championship, and playoffs.
I said McCort by a handful in Link plays, did he play?

Titan, Link did not play. Second hand info so don't hold me to it: Out about a week with a mild concussion.
LHAC456, I would say you sure seem to know alot about bleacher coaches for someone making their first post, but instead I'll say: Read my post again, not belittling anyone. I love the Heights. I was Heights when Heights wasn't cool. Heights has won exactly one district title in boy's basketball (1986) and if they want to win another one they need to keep an even keel and keep working their rear ends off.

They lost to Aliquippa in the second round at IUP. Referees were 30 minutes late in getting there and there were 11 guys between the two teams dunking in pregame.

Yes, I was at that Quippa/CH game..I think it was 1986 or 1987...Sean Gilbert from Aliquippa almost tore down the collapsable rim in warmups...I recall the rim taking like 5 minutes to return to normal after all of the dunks...It was a slowdown game where Heights zoned the Quips, made them shoot from the outside and nearly beat them...CH lost by 2, something like 45-43. Bruce Frycklund was the Highlanders coach back then.
Good memories.

Heights has a pretty good track record of facing future NFL players in interdistrict basketball games. They saw Chuck and Tony Williams from Freedom in the early 80's, Gilbert in the mid 80's and I think they ran into Ty Law at some point in the early 90's.
Titan, you'll know this, on that 'Quippa team with Gilbert, the leading scorer was a swing player (I think), first name Myron. Ring a bell?

Good game/win by CH! If you recall, Vman said in preseason that they would be for real & that Vescovi would end up being a legit college prospect by end of his career. Game started early, therefore Vman was late but BM was up a couple @ half; CH (to coaches credit) made it more of a half court game in 2nd half & basically dominated McCort in 4th quarter. in addition to the big man the lefty (not sure of name) really played a very good all around game. Nice shot/rotation, moves the ball well & plays aggressively.
