Getting to pick and choose the tatlent you have from year to year is nothing but an unfair advantage
thus, MC sould play up one class at least

Re: The low down on McCort recruiting!
I go from one sport to the next and it always seems to be a post about McCort. You make it appear that McCort gets these high number of transfers from every school district out there every single year. Seriously though, how many super impact student/athletes really transfer year in and year out. I know that one here and one there can make a difference but the numbers hardly seem overwhelming. Bottom line is that most of the kids that play sports for McCort come from the parochial grade school system. I believe that NcCort has an excellent football program in place because of Salem and his coaching staff. It's being done right! Now with that being said, enrollment in the parochial grade schools are down, and the level of talent thus is also being affected. All you haters will be getting your wish. Ha-Ha unless McCort improves their recruiting?
Re: The low down on McCort recruiting!
You don't need alot of transfers to upset the paying field, and they don't have to be super-impact players either. Sometimes ONE transfer (like Bill Dill in B-Ball) can make all the difference. And as I said before, if the transfer is a starter, he has to be BETTER than the guy he would have replaced or he wouldn't BE starting in the first place. And as long as Salem, as an administrator for the school, can have a say-so who transfer's in, he's "doing it right" in HIS mind.

By the way, I see Lenhart was the winning pitcher last night. Like I said, It only takes one.

Just because you start doesn't make you better than who you are playing over. This is small town high school sports, its a lovely mix of athletics and politics.
Re: The low down on McCort recruiting!
Being from a small town makes it even WORSE!!!!!!!! Since there are not as many kids to pick from, like in Altoona, starters stand out MORE in small schools than the kids they play over. Don't give me that "kids on the bench are just as good as the starters" argument. Kids start because they are better than the reserves.

I keep reading and reading this post and after the fifth time it still doesnt make sense... I mean of course you don't have a kid starting that is better then the other kids starting because as a coach you definately want to lose right?????Crimsoncrush67 wrote:Just because you start doesn't make you better than who you are playing over. *Insert the past 5 years of WH football here.

I guess the qualty of coaching at McCort is not a factor in their record?! or, is it possible that God is on their side?! The "Tradition of Excellence" at McCort seems to be speaking for itself.
Re: The low down on McCort recruiting!
Anyone can coach a team where the reserves are just as good as the starters, right? And, in the words of the Doors, "You cannot petition the Lord with prayer".
