And are the Flyers the biggest pieces of cheap shotting sh** the NHL has ever seen?

Im gonna say yes to both.
They did play excellent.
The chippieness (is that even a word) at the end of the game is EXACTLY what I was worried about, and why I did NOT want the pens playing the flyers in the first round. If Staal, Talbot, or even Guerin had gotten injured that would have been horrible for the rest of the playoffs.

The Flyers are just like the Titanic. They both look good until they hit the ice

I was wishing they would just throw Godard out there for the last minute to clean things up. Did you notice the early exit by Hartnell? Probably the best move the Flyers made all season.

Godard was scratched for Adams. So he wasn't in the line-up but I would not be surprised to see him later in this series.

To our 'more grounded' posters, I concur w/ the Flyer disdain but we should not go to their level & engage in thuggery! I think Knubble was quoted as saying something to the effect that they were not as prepared or intense as Pgh....We have their defensemen on their heels & I like how Adams forechecks & kills penalties. Go w/ same line up Fri & dress Godard in Philly Sun.

Did you catch the worst cheap shot of the nite? With only seconds remaining Curcillo (sp?) who had like 999 penalty minutes this yr. was sent out to take face off vs Talbot....this dude made no attempt to play the puck & literally swung fist w/ stick butt end in it & hit Max in head!! Talbot did go down but Luckily i think his helmet took most of the blow. I think that should be forwarded to league office & worthy of @ least a one game suspension.

When its something as open as that, especially in the playoffs, he definitely needs to be suspended. He made zero effort to go for the puck on the faceoff, and went straight for Talbots face. Completely uncalled for.

here's what i learned from last nights game....

1. The pens are much more physical than i thought they were
2. The flyers are SCARED!!! They have no response for the pens when they're playing like they did last night so they reverted to that old philly mentality of "if we can't beat them, let's just beat them up."

don't be surprised if this series ends up just like last year, over in 5

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.

Pittsburgh needs to take care of business tomorrow night at home, if they do that, this series is over already. There is no way Philly can come back and win 4 out of 5 with 2 of those being in Pittsburgh.

The Penguins are the most consistent team in this post season, IMO. They have been nothing short of spectacular the past 25+ games. I honestly don't think there is a team that can beat the Pens 4 times in 7 games with the roster they way it is now. Injuries can happen and often do and effect teams this time of year. If the Penguins stay healthy, there isn't a better team right now from the goaltender to the forwards.

I just hope they stay hungry and Bilesma doesn't tighten up for some reason. They sure do look sick right now.

Scott Hartnell is the biggest piece of trash I've ever seen play the game. I got into a discussion last night during the game about who is more "hate-able", Sean Avery or Hartnell?

Phuck Philly.

TORONTO — Philadelphia Flyers' forward Daniel Carcillo has been suspended for one game and Flyers' coach John Stevens has been fined $10,000, the NHL announced Thursday.

Carcillo's suspension stems from an incident late Wednesday in Game 1 of the Flyers' Eastern Conference quarter-final series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

With seven seconds remaining in the third period and the Penguins leading 4-1, Carcillo delivered a blow to the head of Maxime Talbot directly off a face-off.

Talbot did not sustain an injury and no penalty was assessed on the play.

"We held a conference call Monday with the General Managers and Coaches of playoff teams and told them explicitly we would not tolerate attempts by clubs to 'send a message' late in a game when the outcome had been determined," said Colin Campbell, the NHL's Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations.

"Organizations - players and coaches - will be held accountable for such actions."

Carcillo's suspension will be served on Friday night when the Flyers meet the Penguins in Game 2 of the series.
