Mind you...Delweld fans along with their head coach jumped an umpire in the stands a few years back and if it wasn't for Bugsy Roberts the poor guy would have gotten clobered...remember...stuff like that doesn't leave someone once they do it...they jumped one of the best umpires in the league like a gang...yes...they did..makes you wonder the kind of character some of the players they sign have!

Delweld was not screwed by the umpires. No team was. The umpiring was just inconsistent. Questionable calls were made in every game in that final series. That's baseball. The problem is all of the games (except for the 18-4 game 4) were decided by 1 or 2 runs. Every call is magnified in close baseball games.

Umpires dont win and lose baseball games. When will you people realize that. When a team loses by one run, chances are, they did or didnt do something to lose that game. Stranding baserunners, not executing a bunt, things like that. I get a kick out of teams that blame a loss on an umpire's call in the 4th inning when the team strands 13 runners or doesnt get a bunt down when they need to. What a joke!! I think most coaches understand that but parents and fans certainly dont.

Hector,
When you attack the character of players from one team, you are attacking the whole league. Delweld, Martella's and the Renegades all go after the same players. Some go here and some go there.

Nobody jumped that umpire. I was there that night. Close game, both teams fans were on the umpires. No different than any other game. The umpire went into the stands looking for a confrontation after the game and the UMPIRE threw the first punch in that whole thing. He took a swing at the coaches father. What would you do if you saw another man hit your dad?? I'd probably do the same thing. Bugsy did come in and break everything up. That kids a beast. Make sure you get all the facts before painting that picture. Keep in mind, this is also the same umpire that kneed a Martella's base coach below the belt before he ejected him from a playoff game in 2008.

i attended 3 delweld games this year and their fans argued EVERY ball and strike call that did not go their way. and it wasn't a simple ohh or ahhh. they yelled and screamed at the plate umpire. it was the most pathetic display of sportsmanship i have ever witnessed.

that is all.

I was right there too Yankee, maybe you were one of the people kicking Ted while he was laying on the concrete. He never did such a thing by kneeing someone. You are most likely a Delweld fan who has no class, and you have to lie to yourself and make things up so you can live with yourself. I love watching Delweld play in the league, but the stigma that has followed the team and their fans since the creation of the team, has been that they lack class. That still holds true for their fans, not sure about the players.

Because you don't like their fans. No reason to bash the players on the team. They can't control what the fans do.

I dont know any other way to put this. You are a moron. Wait...I take that back. Your statement makes you sound like a moron. To say the Delweld fans have had no class since the team joined the league is foolish. Whats the matter? Was your son not recruited by Delweld? Was he not a pickup player one of the 5 years they were in the tournament? There has to be some underlying gripe you have with the franchise to single them out, considering how many teams have come and gone since 1999. I guess you never watched the Gallikers or Principal teams of the past. I would love to single out certain players and coaches but this forum isnt intended for such opinion. If you are a friend of the umpire who was involved in the fight and you are trying to defend him, good for you. You are a loyal friend. But to blast a franchise over something that happened 2 years ago is ridiculous. Mind you the Delweld Corp has been an avid supporter of amateur athletics at every level in the local area for over 15 years. For you to come on here and say their fans have no class is an asinine statement.

I am somewhat a friend of Ted, but if someone else acted the way their fans do I would call them out. Principle's fans a few years ago were terrible also, along with the repeated goating from their owner (while in the stands during games). Galikers fans were even bad at some points (hell their coach paid pick up players to pitch in the tournament) ,but if the Delweld fans are the only fans to jump an umpire after a game, they take the cake on having no class. Until another group of fans (along with a coach) jumps an umpire, no one can outdue Delweld. Their players have toned down the things they used to do in the past years (but that isn't because of coaching or fans, it's because maybe some of the kids playing for them now realize what jerks people around the franchise are) and they play with more respect for the game. In the end it comes to down to one core principle, do you want to be associated with a group of thugs? Sure, they have sponsored baseball for a long time, but that doesn't make them morally stable enough to be around those kids. Sometimes when you watch a Delweld game you wonder how embarassed the kids playing on the field are by what their fans are doing and saying in the stands. Take a look around, if you have been part of the problem forever, you might think the solution is the wrong way to go...if Delweld could clean up their act, maybe more people would have respect for the franchise, because I won't until they clean up their act.
