Maybe the price was so cheap because the Pirates are having another bobble-head night? Didn't Pitt have to move a game several years back because of a Pirate bobble-head night?

I did not start the thread tearing on Pitt's football team. All I did was state facts. If my team had not won a National Championship since 1986, I doubt I would be ripping on a team that my coach is afraid to play. That's just an outsider's perspective on Pitt and PSU. If that starts a pointless agrument on which team will make a BCS Bowl and lose by 30, I am sorry. USC is begging to see PSU again.

Pitt was the last team of the to to have lost a BCS game by 30+ points. 38-24 isn't 30, but rather 14. You must have you teams confused.

My how quickly we forget that PSU had won 3 of it's last 4 bowl games. Against ACC, Big XII and SEC opponents. One loss, and now they're terrible. I love it.

Ham, they haven't won a National Championship in 23 years. I never stated that they were terrible. They are a quality team year in and year out lately. I just think reality is lacking a little bit for PSU fans. It's easy to rip on Pitt because they have underachieved, but it's not like PSU is beating upper echelon teams on a regular basis. In those three games that you speak of, they won in the Alamo Bowl, Outback Bowl, and the Orange Bowl. They beat an 8-4 Florida State team that was not deserving of a BCS Bowl. Is that really what you are going to hang your hat on? You had a chance to beat USC in the Rose Bowl and were down 31-7 at halftime. If Pete Carroll doesn't take it easy on JoePa, that game would have been ridiculously bad. Don't you remember how awful PSU's pass defense was in that game? I just don't see why PSU fans think that they are up on this high horse compared to other mediocre teams. They may be one step above, but that's all.

They won the ACC title game. Who are you to say they don't deserve that opportunity?

If we're gonna go back, Penn State has been more successful since 1980 than your beloved UT football team. Had Texas not beaten USC in that game in 2006, it would be 39 years and counting since their last title! 1 Title in 39 years isn't exactly beating the doors down every single year.

Since winning the National Title in 2006, Texas has not won the Big XII. Penn State has won 2 of the last 4 Big10 titles. Just saying.

The Big 11 hasn't been world beaters that last few years, so I don't think I would be bragging too much about that.

Pitt is expected to win the Big East this year, and if they do, what will the psu fans say to that?

It would be 39 years, but it's not. They won it in 2006. Thankfully, they did not win it because of a referees missed call, too. In case you forgot, Texas should have played for the National Championship last year. They were percentage points away, so that's pretty close to beating down the door. In 2005, they lost one game to Oklahoma or they would have played in the National Title again. That's the same year that they beat Big 10 "powerhouse" Michigan. They have been knocking at the door 3 times in the past 5 years and broke it down once and won. How about PSU? 23 years, buddy. 23 years. You keep counting those Big 10 Championships in football. They mean about as much as beating Indiana State.

Weren't the Nits Big Ten co-champs both times in the last 4 years? I think they have actually been outright champions only once since joining the Big Ten.
