I thought I would get some good responses on that selection. I said it would shock District 6 or maybe I should have said the world!! McCaullay is a solid back and Plummer is very impressive from his QB position, he makes good decisions. Blacklick has two solid backs in Worthington and Julock and Manda at QB who is also a good decision maker. Heck Namath did it in 1969 I figured 40 years later it was worth a shot!

I agree it is time BV gets some positive press for their football program. Three straight trips to the playoffs, hosting their first ever playoff game at home, and winning the game. People in the Valley will be buzzing.
However, Bellwood will be a tough test with Portage and McCort looming.
Also, United deserves some credit. BG entering the playoffs with a 3-6 record expecting to waltz into Armaugh and beat the Lions??? Great job United!!!

MuddleHuddle - I agree with the Hats off to United! I also feel that Guilfoyle was using the "We play a tough schedule routine" and felt they were going to roll into the semi-finals by winning two in row from the teams in the "inferior" leagues in the district.

i dont believe that bg planned on losing to bc in week nine which would have gave them 4 wins. you have to declaire for the playoffs in week 8 which is why the teams must have 4 wins so if they win in week nine they will be .500 it appears that bg found a loop hole in the d6 system. im glad that united won and hope they do on friday, i hate penns manor with a passion

It's hard to go against the big three. McCort, Portage, and Bellwood should all advance if they come to play and take care of business. Rumor has it that Bellwood tries some intimidate opponents at home. Any truth to this???
The PM-United game should be a great game. I'll take PM.

Matko - Are you sure that you declare playoffs in week 8?

That cannot be correct because they would not even know who the top 16 teams would be until the final games ended. I do not think that you would have to disclose your intentions until you are certain that you even qualify. Guilfoyle should have removed themselves from the playoffs following an embarrassing loss to Bishop Carroll who finished 2-8.

I know this is the wrong BOARD INDEX but I personally feel basketball should have guidelines for playoffs too. An open format is ridiculous. Make teams earn a birth to the playoffs.

Bellwood has a nice stadium. They have some nice home cookin' it always seems, and it's not just in the concession stands.
