I just read that Pitt will be playing in the Meineke Car Car Bowl, on December 26.

I would imagine that, in addition to there being so much to do in Pittsburgh, that Pitt fans will not travel because they will lose the opportunity to buy wrapping paper at a discount on the day after Christmas.

That will be a great matchup against Louisiana Lafayette.

A question for the nit wits......
If psu gets the nod before Iowa for a fiesta or orange bid is it because they are the better team or because of attendance?

Without Stanzi, Penn State is the better team. With Stanzi, after being hurt and not playing for close to 2 months, I don't know.

In football it's a "what have you done for me lately" mentality. Penn State won its last 3 games of the year. Iowa lost 2 out its last 3.

If Penn State gets the bowl invite it will be because of how well Penn State travels. It will also be because of the t.v. rankings that Penn State draws in every bowl game. That, in-turn, will generate more money for the bowl site and FOX for advertising money that will be flying into the game due to the high viewership expectancy.

These bowl games are all about the money, please remember that. The individual bowls will look out for what's best for them. They'll chose who will make them the most money, whether that will be Iowa, Penn State, Boise State, TCU.
