i agree there is no talent in the somerset county this year and shade will win the south and valley the north...shade still can beat valley on any given day if smith and gibbons both catch fire in the same game...also i think the d5 is not that weak this year bc of the bedford teams in it...southern fulton, northern bedford, and tussey return alot from last year...i think tussey will win d5 and those bedforf teams last year gave the shade team last year a run for their money in all three games

There is talent in the area. These broad sweeping statements just kill me. North Star and Valley split head to head and North Star beats all conference teams. Will that crown them champions of the northern division I don't know but CV is not a lock.

Shade and berlin will kill any south teams when they play them!!! It will come down to who wins when they play each other. I like coach prosser from berlin. He always finds a way to outcoach us even when we were stacked and he had all underclassmen. He will have his team ready when we play. Berlin did kill richland this year. They have to be decent!

Oh and by the way....here is a stat for you, i belive the young ball coach will be recieving his century mark in wins this season

Prosser has not had the fab and smith ever. fyocks record is only 92-65 and he won 82 with the fab4 and smith.

I can't remember Shade having a winning record until Fyock and Gibbons came. Thier first season was a losing season and ever since have been winning seasons. 15 wins or more. And his first winning season wasn't with your fab 4 (that was actually fab 3) and smith. There may be talent at shade but there was before fyock came too. Maybe just maybe he knows how to coach and develop players for his program.

Muddlehuddle wrote:Here we go again with all this Shade talk. Sure, the Panthers will most likely win the WestPAC South but this year the only competition they have in that section is Berlin. I saw Berlin play Portage. Portage totally out hustled them and out played Berlin. Face it, The WestPAC North is the stronger section with CV leading the way.
Shade can be thankful they play in D5 and in Somerset County.....
And cheers to a Shade Panther victory over Portage 84-79. Berlin was over-confident and cocky this year thinking they were guna destroy everyone. Shade knew they had alot to follow up after last years run and it seems to me they're makin a good fill of it due to hardwork and stupendous coaching by Wade Fyock. With junior guard Brett Hart coming back soon, they'll have even more depth on their bench! Just wait for the Shade-Berlin games. My moneys on Shade.

I also watched BC play against a terrible Windber squad, and that game minemeyer didnt even start! They had one good guard who scored all of their points and windber frustrated him the whole game with dirty defense and if BC pulled out a win against CV, i tip my hat to them, but i also am very disappointed in all this talk about CV with their loss to them and how they played the second half against Shade. I was at that rematch of shade and cv and they first half i was upset to see how shade played but whatever fyock said to them in the locker room at halftime really made that team step up and play like every shade team has played in the last 5 or more years. I think when shade and cv meet up again, theres goin to be a different outcome.
