15 technicals ?
Re: 15 technicals ?
DO not blame the officials you idiot. These guys have been around for a long time and have done many competitive games where kids actually had skills. maybe that was the problem with this game. That's what happens when you have so few kids that you CANNOT FIELD A COMPETITIVE TEAM. Emotions, grudges and feuds rear their ugly heads and can take over a game because one or both teams do not have the horses or skills to compete.
People have to have RESPONSIBILITY for their actions. I heard there were fans fighting as well -- parents??? Also, rumor has it that Cory Isenborg was out at half court throwin down in her bumble bee outfit....... ha ha..
Neither of these two schools should exist. It is TIME to put them both out of their pathetic uncompetitive misery. They have both become true embarrassments to the Johnstown area.

Re: 15 technicals ?
Titan,
There is a great history of bad blood between these two schools which goes back to at least the early eighties.
The fouls were indeed a result of players leaving the bench during the mele....not cummulative to the point that they lost control of the game. My understanding is that the situation was exacerbated by fans leaving the bleachers and coming out onto the floor. Any fan who did so should be banned from attending events for the rest of the year. For God's sake you live in Johnstown not downtown Philly! Trying to act like a bad a$$ at a high school game is like me in a bikini...it doesn't fit, it allows people to question your judgement let alone your sanity and it makes you look like an idiot.
All that being said, I will be interested in how the fairly new Admiistration and first year AD at Ferndale handle this. I have a great deal of respect for both the superintendent and the new AD. I hope I am not disappointed.

StilaJacket - this bad blood you speak of is not only with Conemaugh Valley but practically every school that enters the Ferndale gym. I hope Ferndale does do something about this behavior. Believe me other schools have situations that they are not proud of but the Jackets seem to have a pattern going.

Re: 15 technicals ?
I agree with that. Other schools just take ferndales trash talking as part of the deal when they travel there. CV didn't take it and did something about it. Look what player got thrown out from ferndale, is it a surprise?Prince Sidewinder wrote:StilaJacket - this bad blood you speak of is not only with Conemaugh Valley but practically every school that enters the Ferndale gym. And this behavior has been going on for years and nothing has been done about it. If your gonna talk the talk you should at least be able to walk the walk. See my previously referenced "me in a bikini" scenario for my thoughts on Ferndales trask talking boys athletic programs.

I love it...Losing by 43 points (89-46) and talking trash!

Re: 15 technicals ?
psycho--please do not call me an idiot. I am assuming you meant it for me since your post came directly after mine, but I was not blaming the refs. Just trying to add some detail for the situation.
Re: 15 technicals ?
Psycho, people do need to be held accountable for their actions. They should know the consequences of their actions. I understand that there was a technical or intention foul prior to the bench clearing. Given the history, at the first tech or intention foul all coaches and players should have been informed that the next incident will result in a one or more being ejected. Administration should have notified the crowd that leaving your seat and coming onto the floor would result in being banned for the remainder of the year.

Re: 15 technicals ?
The problem here is that this particluar school has created a culture where certain behaviors have been acceptable for far too long. Parents feeling free to walk into practices anytime they want; spectators berating players, coaches and officals, parents providing instruction to kids from the bleachers and kids actually walking over to them to listen and disregarding their coach; and parent groups demanding that coaching changes be made almost annually....and getting thier way.
My Dad always said....you plant corn, you get corn. Translation....You can't teach/allow poeple to behave in a certain way and then stand back in amazement when they do it.
Clean it up please Ferndale.
