Are some of the young guys starting to turn the corner and become solid players? Could we be looking at a solid team next year? Or will these prospects do the same as we always seem to see, and have 1 nice year followed by 3 disappointing years.

Well the young guns hit their first bump in the road. Lincoln is on the way back to AAA. Will be interesting to see who they fill his spot in the rotation with since the pool of options is rather shallow.
Bucs also DFA'd Brendon Donnelly. Even though they have Ledezma ready to move up and add another lefty to the pen, this is a surprise move at this point in the season until you read the articles and see that contract incentives were about to kick in and the club would owe him more money. That's the Pirate ownership we have become accustomed to the last decade.

Was he a bum when the FO signed him to a $ 1.35 mill contract with incentives in the off season? Was he a bum when he pitched in 38 games over the first half of the season?
I personnally think he should have been gone before the all-star break, and I find it too coincidental that all of a sudden he is not good enough just when the incentives (which by all accounts would double his contract) are ready to kick in.
If on field performance is the standard by which the FO is determining player/roster decisions these days, why is Church still around and Moss not on the major league team?
Steven Jackson is definitely an upgrade  .
We shall see with Ledzema. I project it will only take Kerrigan a month to screw him up.
'Who do I want to pitch right now?' I would prefer David Price or Josh Johnson but that ain't happenin' so I guess we'll watch more of Ross Ohlendorf, Jeff Karstens, and whatever Cy Young Candidate they bring up to fill Lincoln's spot in the rotation.

If Daniel McCutcheon makes one more start I may never root for the bucs again. Dude throws 88 with terrible off speed stuff. How he got past the AA level is beyond me.

And he's pitching tonight against the Cards. This will be a blood bath. Are there seriously NO other options to start games than Daniel McCutchen? If he lasts 5 innings it will be a miracle. What a joke.
