Good Point Moldy. It's much better to pummel the crap out of the kid and throw him through a glass window as police beat you with Billyclubs then after he goes through the window continue to punch him in the face. By the sound of it, he's lucky he didn't kill him.

No, it's alot better when 8 guys show up at someone's apartment and EVERYONE in the apartment gets the **** beat out of them, even the innocent bystanders in the apartment. You see, if you beat EVERYONE up, you're bound to get the right person. And the beer bottle over the head? Hey, I like it.

Typical Pitt fan.

Pitt loses a football game...They're talking about Penn State
Pitt wins a football game...They're talking about Penn State
Pitt football player gets in trouble...They're talking about Penn State

I think if you're going to spend as much time thinking about Penn State you might as well just make them the team you root for. You're neglecting your own team.

Moldo, let's not sugarcoat that Sheard is charged with FELONY aggrivated assault. That doesn't sound to me like a bar fight.

There's one SLIGHT detail here that none of the Nitters want to talk about...SHERARD WAS IMMEDIATELY SUSPENDED FROM THE TEAM INDEFINITELY. You see, that's the difference between what happens at Pitt and what happens at PSU. At PSU, everyone minimizes the incident and goes into denial and talks about what a clean program they have and how JokePa is the messiah and since he preaches the grand experiment, then salvation and truth lies within...At Pitt, immediate action is taken by Wannsteadt who does not tolerate this nonsense. Instead of suspending nitwits like Scirotto, he was made team captain by the savior of college football.

Sheard is charged with a felony assault? Shows you the difference between the Pittsburgh police and the State College police. In Sheard's case, two men were involved in an altercation. In State College, a GANG attack, where 8 guys bust into someone's apartment and beat the **** out of several inhabitants in the apartment is basically sloughed off as college high-jinks.

Titan, I understand your point, but Austin Scott and Anwar Phillips were both severe crimes and they were BOTH acquitted. I just dont know how you can punish a kid based on allegations. Let's just assume for a minute here that Sheard did NOT do anything wrong. Now you suspend the kid for the season based on allegations? Sheard being suspended indefinitely is MAYBE good, but he could come back 5 mins from now if Wanny wanted him to. You don't even know if he actually beat someone up, yet. I think we need to leave these judgements to the law in the longterm and the head coaches in the short term. If Sheard explains the situation to the coach and the coach believes he did no wrong, there should not be a suspension. Joe was right in both cases when he perceived that Scott and Phillips were wrongly accused. That's a HUGE roll of the dice, but it IS his call.

Cases like Scott and Phillips and Scott Paxson are "he said/she said" cases. BUT cases like Scirotto and his friends are different. Paterno did not act "vigorously" enough when presented with eyewitness accounts and other interviews with people who were there, PLUS police reports.
