Actually the guy that was on the 41 Bears did play in the 40 game.. no college, about 50% of the NFL in those days were high school stars that didn't go on to college.

The Pottsville Maroons were a force in the 1920s. They should have won the NFL Championship in 1925.

You are a little off on the 1976 Forest Hills team. They were 8-0-1 with seven shutouts. They gave up 15 points all year. Eight of them were in a tie to Central Cambria. They did win the Mountain Conference.
I checked into this once because I was always curious why Ligonier did not win the Mountain Conference that year when they had an undefeated conference record and Forest Hills had the tie in conference. But Forest Hills played the tougher schedule and won based on the points system. Ligonier was 8 - 1 that year overall with a loss to Bishop McCort, who was not in the Mountain Conference.
No argument though that Forest Hills must have been a very good team that year, with an outstanding defense.

Altoona had at least one state title by ranking by the Harrisburg media. I believe it was in the 1940`s. Coach Earl Strohm may have had one in the 1960`s. Altoona football was something special in those days. If anyone can give me the year or years that Altoona was ranked number one, I would be thankful. It would be interesting to see a list of who were crowned the top team,before the playoff system. I live in Berwick which has six titles. Southern Columbia is 15 miles away with six titles. Mt Carmel is 24 miles away with 5 titles. Good football zip codes here.
