Re: Why couldn't Pitt have "Navorroed" Fields onto the team?

True, but Navorro obviously had character issues too and he got to stay. So did a host of other players at PSU, who also had character issues as problematic as the issues which plagued Fields. YOU know that TAE.
Oh, and I don''t want to hear the excuse that Navorro was depressed because his HS coach or dog or whoever died, either. He made mistake #1 by using/possessing weed, was sentecnced and then blew off his probation for mistake #2, and also tested positive yet AGAIN for Mary Jane, which was mistake #3. Bowman had multuiple chances and NOTHING was done by Paterno in terms of suspensions or removal from the team. The Bowman case was indeed depth chart justice at its finest (or worst).
All I am saying is that Pitt should've taken a page from Paterno's philosophy "Player Discipline: MY Way", If so, Fields should still be playing for Pitt. Heck, if he was at PSU, he'd be team captain this season like Sciorotto was. I know that PItt's defensive packages vs. the spread offense would look A LOT better than they do now with Fields in the secondary, just like PSU's defense was A LOT better with Navorro on the field...
