@youngbuck...Yes, I played my junior high ball at BC, but football was in no way a factor in why I chose to play at CC. If it had been then I probably would have gone to play for Coach Craig, it's just hard to argue with amount of athletes he has playing at the collegiate level. It's Wasilewski btw.
Coach Shutty was the head coach of the CC freshman team my year (2005) whose only loss was to a very good FH team. He then moved up to an assistant varsity and head jv coach for the next few years. @youngbuck again...Shutty was a part of the staff that saw CC beat two very good Tyrone teams in 07 and 08 and that reached the D6 game both years.
Having said that, I am surprised that the job went to Coach Shutty being that they chose to stay in house. I would have thought that the job would have been given to Coach Ridgeley, the long-time defensive coordinator for the devils. I don't think anyone would argue that he has earned the head coaching job without even having to interview for it. I understand that a lot more probably went into the decision, but all I can say is that I hope things get sorted out and CC will have many good seasons to come. I think that there are a number of good coaches on the current staff that I would like to see remain because I think that they give the kids a very good chance of winning and ultimately learn more about the game and become the best players than can be. Whatever happens, best of luck to Coach Shutty, Coach Ridgeley, Coach McHenry, Coach Gironda, Coach Klezek, Coach Moore, and the rest of the Red Devil family. Go CC.
