Yeah all the kids always get invited to Penn State games. I guess you went also when you played?

Shane Rugg went to Notre Dame on an "unofficial visit" and he ended up at Lehigh. Thats solid football out there and nothing wrong with going there. On an average game where a Big D1 school host these visits they invite 300-400 prospects. less than half actually attend the game and less then 20 of them even attend that school. So I mean I know your excited about this whole Alkwan getting these looks, but really its so early in the game. He isn't a sure fire D1 player. He has a chance. Don't make it bigger than it is yet.

I agree with you crimson, you shouldnt think hes going to the NFL, but you atleast gotta give him SOME credit, he worked hard to get where he is, and he is a great player. Its not easy to get invited to this if only one or two players a year out of the whole area are going

Crimson, thoughts on the rest of the D6 A playoffs? Do you think United or Portage can pull upsets?

I expect the United-Penns Manor game to be close. Penns Manor beat United by 8 only a few weeks ago. That game was close, and the teams are familiar with each other. On Penns Manor's end, its tough to beat a team twice in a season. On United's end, they have to go on the road against the top seed. I see this game will be determined by less then a score. And I do like United to get the upset.

I think Juniata Valley will advance, but Portage knows how to win. I just think Portage is down, and JV has been playing well all year and they have the homefield advantage.

My semi final projections.....

United at Bishop Carroll Juniata Valley at Bellwood-Antis.

Trust me, there were tons of kids at every school on unofficials. Let's not start talking about this kid like he's D1 material yet.

I think the Penns Manor and United game will be the game to watch. These teams know each other well and it was Penns Manor that knocked United out of the play offs last year. Playing at PM will be tough but I like United's chances.
I also like Homer City's chances at BC. Homers has a tough D. If they can slow down the run they have a chance.

Great write up Crimson.

I waited for your writeup on the LHAC to help me decide on the Bellwood-McCort game.

Regardless, I was picking Bellwood, but I wanted to see who you had in this one. It is just too hard to match them up and know who will do what because of their schedules.
