Jim Bowser is the best coach in the state at making moves on Match Day to get the best possible match-ups to win a match. Although Jake will run practices and make other decisions, he will be able to lean on Bowser to get through the paper work and other things that are unfamiliar and sometimes trying for a new coach. Those two have a great relationship and will be a good duo to lead the Rangers Wrestling squad.
Awesome! I'm not as close to the inner loop as I thought I guess. Great for Fh and for Jake. Good luck to both.

Great Season for Local Wrestling: There are some very strong teams in this coverage area. NBC is primed to have an exciting year with a very strong nucleus returning. They will start with the likes of Cody Guyer and Mason Replogle and Finish with Troutman, W.Sollenberger, Albright, D. Sollenberger, Suter and probably Hixson. Sandwiched in between are Gartland, Brallier and M. Sollenberger. The key to their success will be making sure none of there upper weigts are bumped out with guys getting bigger. They have had some very successful Jr. High teams and have some good young wrestlers coming up that will provide depth. Claysburg will be equally as tough this year. There numbers are said to be in the upper 20's this year and their line-up will feature Josh Brown at 103 followed by Sell, Cox, Dodson, Dively, Claycomb, Claar, Weyandt, Aungst, Ickes, Lehman. Up top they will return Burkett and Feathers. They have many quality back-ups this year fighting for positions and alot of flexibility to maneuver. Bedford will look to reload again with the addition of Easter and Thomas to start off their line-up. they have a much improved Weyandt in the middle and ever dangerous Gibbons and Krupa up top. They have alot of holes to fill and will be young but very scrappy and are not to be looked over. Chestnut Ridge is another team looking to make a push with a tremendous amount or experience returning. They have a couple real good wrestlers in Pfaunmiller, Dibert and Deffibaugh and will compliment them with alot of servicable wrestlers throughout.

As far as some of the other teams that get mentioned on here from time to time. I see Tyrone having the potential to be a quality team if they get everyone out and spread out that they have available. Forest Hills will be solid too and i am sure they will be well coached. Dont see them in the top 4 teams in D6 but more as a 5 or 6 team. They will be good in the mid to upper weights but will give up too much on the bottom to recover against the top teams.

Mark these Dates on your calendar:
December 11th -- Zeigler Tourny Teams expected to be there are CK, Forest Hills, Tyrone, Penn Cambria, Tussey Mt, Central, Waynesburg 7AAA, and Colonial Forge Virginia 3x State Team Champ
December 14th -- NBC at Mount Union
December 21st -- Claysburg at Chestnut Ridge and Bedford at Westmont Hilltop
December 23rd -- Chestnut Ridge at Bedford
December 28th -- Mount Union at Claysburg
January 6th -- NBC at Claysburg
January 8th -- Bedford at Claysburg

These should be some very high profile matches that you wont want to miss!!!!!!!!!

D5@6fan totally agree with your assessment, i will ad bedford will have a quality heavy weight in David Fredrick, he is a really good athlete and has been injured for the past few years. He could make some noise in D5.

Plus I heard their HWT was weighing about 320 and might not be able to get down to 285.

But that is rumor. Don't know if it is true.

I think Hixson was around 300 at the start of football, maybe a tad bellow. He was about the same last year and had no trouble getting down.

That's good for NBC. That would be a big loss if he was not around.

what about north star? they had a young team last year, but they had a good showing at districts with a couple falling short in they consy finals with very close matches. Could they be a contender for the district title this year?

No. North Star does not have near enough depth to contend for a D5 title this season.
