I agree Rizzo is a great wrestler and an above average football player, I think he would be even more effective in other positions in football, like a wing t fullback. However wrestling imo would be his best bet for a D-1 full ride. UPJ is a very good wrestling school, but Rizzo will be getting offers from the top d1 programs real soon. Hopefully, he proves everyone wrong and becomes the next Peyton Hillis or John Kuhn~

Rushing for 800 yards in the LHAC isn't a great start to being an NFL Running Back.

Winning a state title as a soph is a great start, towards a d1 full ride in wrestling tho.

Not making any outrageous claims or comparisons but (unfortunately for our area) stats are all relative. There have been many 1500+ yard rushers and 1000+ yard receiver who could not sniff any Division one offer. Arguably the most successful d1 player currently from our area (M Cruz) had like 10 catches his senior year.

This kid is an animal on the mat. I think he could go farther in wrestling as far as a big college than he could with football. Depends on what he likes more. That would be a question, I'd like to know.

Crimson... you're stat argument holds no weight.
I think we all can agree that the Richland Rams offense is not the typical offense that Rizzo would strive in. Recruits would know this. They would see the kids POTENTIAL. That's what you recruit a kid on, POTENTIAL. Not what he has done in high school.
I could only imagine if Rizzo was under the wing of Donbo in Sidman. We would have the revival of Dan Felix, Justin Beyer, Dan Kiepper, and Adam Motchenbaugh. (sorry if I spelled any of those names wrong). **For fun only people** Could you imagine DaDuke and Rizzo in the same backfield this year!? I mean Meir is good but I would give the edge to Rizzo when it come to speed/power.
Now, like I stated before. He is a wrestling standout first.
HOWEVER - I would argue wrestling at the next level is far more difficult than football at the next level.
Training for a D1 Wrestling program is pure insanity.
Although football at D1 is rigorous, It can't compete with wrestling... as far as training goes.

I think the stat thing holds up. Find me some big name Running Backs, college or pro with worse stats then that in High School.
To me, Stats in High School for Running Backs and QB's are weighted more then every other position. DLine,Secondary,WR's, TE's ect are recruited off of size, athletic ability, and potential more then Running Back. Thats generally my thought. I mean unless teams are recruiting Rizzo with the thought of making him a Defensive Linemen. That's all I can see him playing.

your argument again is invalid. I dont think anyone is saying this kid is going to be an actual TB in college.

In a ton of offenses, TE's/H Backs/FB's are the same position per se. Block first, catch second, and if they are lucky get a few carries. there have been a ton of FB's who didnt run the ball at all in HS, playing TE or simply just playing on defense(or Oline even).
I mean who knows, there have been a ton of guys with great stats that I thought would atleast get a some kind of D1 look but never do. best of luck to anyone wishing to continue on to the next level from our area.

Lots of kids from the area have been up to games at Penn State for "Visits" in the last few weeks. I know that the Franco boy and another player from Tyrone were listed as unofficial visitors for the Michigan game. No offense to Rizzo but i wouldn't look into this visit anymore than a, "hey enjoy the sights and sounds kid" kinda deal.
