I have to say WR/LB Alkwan Williams as an overall athlete. He is a D1 caliber player as well as Rizzo from richland. I also thought WR/DB Calvin Anderson and QB Simon were small D1 material. Wasn't really impressed to much with dukovich. he is a good player but overrated as an athlete. He doesn't project well in my opinion on the college level from watching his tape. Not at a D1 at least. He is a mid level psac D2 or robert morris/st.francis kind of athlete. Like the RB a couple years ago from FH. I also like WR Dwight Andrews for jtown. He prolly will go D2 but he could sneak in somewhere D1aa like dukovich. And forgive me if I spelled the FH RB name wrong.

I know it is suppose to be one pick but here is my take:

Possible D1 athletes:
1)GJHS WR/LB Alkwan Williams- Very fast for his size and plays with a chip on his shoulder and is only a Junior!!! With the same type of season as this year he can definitely go D1

2)Richland RB/LB Rizzo- I was very impressed with his mobility with his 6'1-2 /240lbs frame. Definitely has the possibility to go D1.

3) GJHS WR/DB Calvin Anderson- With 10 ints this season and a 5'10-11 175-180lbs frame definitely has hips and feet like a D1 DB. Only time will tell but in person I really liked his ability as a free safety.

4)GJHS QB Gervon Simon- Although he put up some healthy numbers at QB I think he could be a D1 WR or DB. But his athletic ability teamed with speed

5)BM OL Rugg- He is also a possible D1 caliber OL and has great size and strength.

We've already had this local player D1 chat.....

To go to an "unofficial visit" really isn't a big big deal. I mean the big time colleges invite close to 300 prospects, only 100 or so attend, and only 15 or less get offers. Not a big deal, Shane Rugg went to a Notre Dame game, but it was a mere formality.

Somebody mentioned the kid from Cambria Heights leading the state in receiving. Being the top guy on MaxPreps does not mean you're the best in the state. It means you're the best in the state of those schools who use MaxPreps. Trust me, not all of the schools have guys inputting the stats on their kids. Not taking anything away for the kid from Heights, just saying being on the MaxPreps leaderboard doesn't make it 100% accurate.

I honestly can say that I have never watched a football game and had any offensive lineman make me say "O"
Unbelievable that people are throwing Ruggs name on here.

I only threw that in there to show the point getting a "look" is nothing. whatsoever.

But seriously you never gave your buddy an elbow sitting next to you and be like "dude look at the linemen, He's freaking HUGE"

I can tell your from jonhnstown. I agree that alkwan could go d1, but the rest are far from making it d1. simon and anderson didnt impress me, and rizzo!? wow thats even a further stretch from d1

Okay, even if Bryce Brawley wasn't the best in the state he is still up there but obviously one of the best in our area. He goes over 1000 on the year and over 230 in a few games in double coverage or a shadow. Still Impressive.
