i'm not questioning the move from a football stand point, if anything this should help them with recruiting and get better players when their already a darn good program. personally i think they'll have a chance run rough shot over the conference the first few years. i'm just questioning the affect it'll have on the rest of their sports, as well as the geographical affect and lack of conference rivalries they'll have

Personal Opinion that this move is made somewhat out of desperation. It's a short-term football fix and that's it. TCU has been strong the last 8-10 years but throughout history we're talking about a program that was largely a doormat from the post Davey O'Brien era through the end of the 20th century.

Yea I hear the "Texas isn't in the East" argument....well the Big Ten has had 11 and now 12 teams so they can't count....what does a Conference Name really mean anymore?

If the Big East really wants to get nasty and fight against football conference disintegration, how about stealing from the Big 12? Maybe Kansas. They need to get to 12 teams, if for no other reason that to reduce their chances of sending an embarassing rep to a BCS Bowl as they will do this year.

To be politically correct, since Notre Dame is a Catholic university, the Big East had to balance it with a protestant university. When they play each other in basketball, they'll call it the Northern Ireland Bowl.

I wouldn't be surprised if Notre Dame is the other team the big east gets in football. There other sports are in the big east now.

they'll never go to the big east in football, if they were going to it would've happened years ago. plus they make too much money playing the independent schedule and being able to play on nbc every week if their not on espn.
