This game demonstrated that the high school football season is too long. A game played in week 14 should not end with a final score like this. Too many teams make the playoffs.

easy way to fix that around here is do what they do in AA, combine districts 5 and 6 in A

They used to play 5/6a, then a couple of years ago they split.

i know back when carroll and windber used to play in the title game just about every year and they should go back to it eliminates a gurantee embarassment for d5 champion in first round of state playoffs, and helps keep undeserving 4-5 and 3-6 teams outta the playoffs in d6

They quit doing it after 2003 when D6 A switched to the side of the bracket they're on now. I know before that D6 played D9 in the first round of state playoffs. They did it to balance the number of teams in the east and west, but that was before the PCL joined the PIAA. I think they should change it back to the sub-regional like you said Jack. Fun fact, D9 is 10-8 all time against D6. Hard for me to believe.

are you surprised that d9 is only 10-8 against d6? cuz carroll had some dang good teams in the early 2000s that would win at least one state playoff game a year it seemed including 2003 when they got all the way to hershey

Just talking in terms of BC, they had D9's number. 3-1 from what I can see.

1998: start of the BC dynasty they lost to Smethport 34-21.
1999: BC 35, Cameron County 24 2OT
2002: BC 19, Clarion-Limestone 14 (CL was undefeated)
2003: BC 18, CL 7 (CL undefeated again)

I'm surprised because I thought it would not only be in D6's favor, but be more lopsided as well. Forest Hills blew out a Brockway team back in pretty baldly in 2002 before bowing to Seton-LaSalle. Where they get them is in AAA and AAAA. D9 has a bunch of wins in those classifications, including this year's Clearfield win over Johnstown.

but tearing apart private schools and the kids that go there makes you have class?
You are a total jerk jack, you come on a topic with your private buds to pile on northstar. You brag you were on a state runnerup team.Guess what if you had the route that district 5 has to take to the title game each year you would have lost in the first round in your glory year! I say you were lucky with your draw.Otherwise you would have had the same outcome as northstar, a loss! Grow up,win with class and lose with class.

old guy

how did i pile it on north star? i said nothing bad about them just simply threw in my opinion on the game. and did i ever say things would have been different had we had to take the d5 route no i did not but we didnt have to. and whose to say if we play them in the first round we would have lost anyone who watch the state title game would tell you we had every oppurtunity to win that game and made alot of dumb mistakes but thats beside the point. i never came on here and piled on north star about loosing clairton no ones gonna beat clairton this year i just think you make yourself look real dumb when you come on here and tear apart private schools and the teenage kids that go there and coaching staffs at these schools for absolutely no reason and then call other people classless.
