Gibbons over Dibert was huge, but for me the match of the night was Brett/Fotchman. Brett dominated all but the final 30 seconds. If not for injury time and lack of clock management Brett wins easily. Hope Michael keeps up the good start he has had to this young season.

I think your referring to when he had his injured elbow. I don't really remember him taking injury time for anything other than the injured elbow.

But come to think of it. I still haven't heard anyone from CR say Bedford was the better football team this fall. When they clearly were. Just lots of excuses.
Just got to read yesterday's newspaper this morning. Wow, Southy was right. I think the "King of Excuses" should be hung on a member of the Bedford faithful that regularly contributes to the Bedford Gazette. Talk about building in excuses ahead of time in case Bedford doesn't win, and making it seem all the greater if they do win. He did the same thing before the football game. Maybe he could have called Coach Laz before hand to get a list of the Ridge guys not in the lineup or kids that moved out of the area.

Anyway, great match last night, as expected. A few observations: When Ridge gave up the pin at 152, it was over. I think a lot of folks were figuring on that being a win for Ridge. Too much had to happen for Ridge after that to come out on top. I was shocked that Bedford bumped Brett up to 215, when he's already a light 171 lber. He really gave it a good shot and most people figured he had it won until the very end. McDannel is really wrestling good and it will be nice to see him back down at 112 when Zimmerman is back. I think Justin may surprise a lot of people at 112. And finally, how about the freshman Buttry at 215/HWT? Only giving up decision to Baer (Somerset) and Krupa (Bedford) on the season so far, when many of us figured he would probably get pinned. Austin is a really tough kid. He's going to take his lumps this year (and win a few along the way), but he's going to be a force for the next couple of years. And he's a great kid on top of it.

Leftyeye - I talked to you a couple of days after the football game and told you personally that Bedford was the better football team that night. Geez, do you want us to write an article in the paper about it? Maybe we could talk about kids that don't live in the area anymore or kids that are injured? Nah, we'll leave that to the Kingdom of Excuses.

But you're still welcome to come for Christmas (only because I want to see the good side of the family).

Merry Christmas everyone.

Excuses-

Didn't you just tell us about your kids out of the line-up and that moved away. I guess i will have to grab yesterdays paper and read it, to see what you are all crying about.

Actually in football I believe you called it the blue flu. Which is the biggest excuse ever. Oh, and you didn't call for about a week after the game.

I can't even read Bill Creps' article anymore. Building excuses like he did before the Bedford/Ridge match even happened is pathetic. The man has on permanent blue and white glasses. He will talk about Bedford's third string offensive guard, but won't say a word about anyone who isn't from Bedford. The article should be renamed "Just Bedford" instead of "Just Sports."

You cannot lumb Bill Creps with all of bedford. I would love to see more articles other than just bedford. Bill is going to write what he wants regardless. The things he writes in the paper should not reflect the teams.

I agree that what Bill Creps writes is not what all of Bedford feels. Most is his personal feelings or just something to make himself as the good guy. I respect him for what he has done for Bedford wrestling but most definitely don't agree with all that he writes.

Why doesn't every county school get a guest columnist every week to brag up their school's athletics like Bedford does?
