I know, I said that. They'll pay him, and Its going to take that type of contract, like a Saban to Bama, Callipari to Kentucky type deal to bring him on board. All I said was, he is a West Coast guy. Say Lane Kiffin fails at USC(which I'd love to see, because he's the biggest jackass in sports) Petersen would be a lethal and scary good hire for USC, he could be coach for life at a place like USC.

Hello! Terry Pegula is a billionaire. That's with a B. He's starting the hockey program from scratch
by himself!. I have no doubt in my mind that Penn State will shell out big bucks. You can't pay players anymore like the golden days of SMU, but you sure as hell can buy a coach.
Crimson, I agree about Chris Petersen if he ended up at USC. I really thought he would end up at Notre Dame but they went with Kelly. I know Michigan, MSU, Stanford, Navy, and Tulsa were happy about that. Another guy PSU should go after is Harbaugh from Stanford. Won't happen, but look at what he's done with the Cardinal. He's a Michigan guy, and if Rich-Rod doesn't pan out I'd see him jumping back into the maize and blue.

Unfortunately, the Dungy name has come up more than any of us would probably like. I really hope they do not go that route.
I haven't heard anything about the cancer rumor.
Gonna be interesting. I have a feeling its all gonna end badly.

If that's the case, then why haven't they forced Paterno out a long time ago? I guess it all depends what you consider a "winner". If you're content on winning 8 games a year, Paterno is your guy. If you want to contend for BCS National Championships, Paterno is not your guy.
??? What in the world does Almuni having lots of money to get a top notch coach have anything to do with forcing a coaching legend to retire. That makes no sense. I'm not calling Penn State a winner now Bozo. I'm saying there is money to pay a coach to build one in the Future.

You don't think enough alumni coming together can force a coach to retire? You're right. That didn't just happen at Florida State. Good call, bozo.

Where did I say that Alumni coming together can't? I'm saying it has nothing to do with having the money to hire a new coach.
Maybe the same Alumni that has the money to hire a new coach also wants Paterno to go out on his own terms. What exact argument are you trying to make? Please explain.

The alumni must not care about winning BCS National Championships if Joe Paterno is still your head coach. It's really pretty simple. Do you really think the way he recruits is going to win a championship?

I don't think the way Paterno recruits or coaches currently will lead to a national title. In fact, their is zero chance. It's not that simple just to get rid of him, though. I would have loved him to be gone in the early 2000's, but you may have some very rich alumni who want him gone, but you also probably have some that want him to coach as long as he wants. It's not as simple as you make it sound.

For those who haven't seen them, here are
"the email(s)"
Very sad if what is said in these emails in true. Some of it probably is, some of it probably isn't, but if they hire Dungy they are out of their minds. Petersen is the guy IMO.
