Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier! Did anyone see the end of the Michigan/PSU game today; and in particular the shot Battle took after Frazier was hurt. Well, Frazier hits the deck on a missed Michigan shot, and Battle brings the ball upcourt with plenty of time left in the game. And THEN, with plenty of time left on the shot clock, takes some kind of wild, maniacal fade away three from almost half court and misses it miserably. That, my friends, hurt the Nits BIG TIME, as Michigan takes it in for another score. Battle did have 31 of PSU's 62 points. The bench had 2.

If they had players who could actually come off the bench and score they'd have at least 2 or 3 more wins and be well on their way to the NCAA tourney.

It's crunch time for the Nits. With a record of 12-10, PSU has 7 games left in the regular season. Three are at home ( Minn, NW, Ohio State ) and 4 on the road ( Mich St, Wisc, NW, Minn ). To be guaranteed to make the NIT, they have to end up 15-14 before the Big Ten Tournment. This would make them 15-15 if they lost in the first round. A regular season finish of 14-15 would mean they would have to win TWO games in the Big Ten Tournament to end up 16-16 and be eligible to play in the NIT. If they have a nice finish to the regular season and do well in the BT Tournament they could even get at bid to the Big Dance. The quest starts tomorrow on the road at MSU.
