What? parents are running out coaches, and need to be appeased during these coaching searches? I thought that kind of thing only happened at the rich schools like Westmont and Richland.

I do truely feel bad for the high school coaches of the modern age. these days you can not plaese everyone, parents, players, or fans. back in my day it was a privallage to be on the team and not cut, let alone get a decent amount of playing time. Its just that every kid must have playing time or people wont be happy. Another problem is people are too soft. i mean you cant be a strict coach anymore. i do not agree with excessive swearing but these are 16 - 18 year old boys, they can hear an f word or two. (we kno they swear around themselves) their is a thing called constructive critisism. These kids need to be a tad afraid of their coaches and be yelled at if they make a mistake. Good Coach Bad Coach, a mean one and a nice one, thts wat a high schooler responds to. Although we all kno that in todays society you cant be old fashioned... you have to be the kids friends or they will complain or quit. Quite frankly, you are hired as a coach, not a teacher, not a friend. a coach. which is entirely diferent from both.

And i still do belive that their are kids out their who CAN work and be sucessful in a strict system, but not enough.
