Last night at Central Cambria BOTH the Portage Girls & Guys teams played back to back games at 6 and 7:30. So apparently they don't mind to schedule 1st round games together???

Football attendance is down significantly this year. We did OK financially. 2 or 3 less games is significant. 18 game tournament. We also had 2 regionals. Lost money on the McDowell / State College game. Payments to schools was in excess of $74,000. It is a decrease of over $30,000 from the previous year. Ray had a concern that 6 teams had a bye in A that is not good. Went to a 12 team bracket this year. Question to the membership continue looking at 12 team bracket and a 9 week schedule or do we go to an eight team bracket?
I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with trying to recoop some money since football lost out this year. As you can see above, quoted from the d6 athletic direction minutes, in addition to losing money on mcdowell/state college, i'm sure having all 100 fans from bc and 150 from mccort at the title game didn't help out. Just think how bad the lost revenue could have been it would have been if it wouldn't have been forest hills and tyrone in AA.

Heres the problem: district 6 wants to make more money by having the teams on different nights. If you were going for either homer or conemaugh it would make more sense to go to the earlier one, and save yourself from buying an extra ticket, making less money for district 6.
Its a terrible way of doing things, it used to be like that but they changed it so they could make more money, i think when it comes down to it district 6 wasnt looking at it from a home court advantage aspect, but more of a money aspect, they're screwing over the fans
