As mentioned, Helsel was a decent #2. I guess I was referring more to his defense, as far as his being a senior this year and the competition being glad he's graduating. Def. better on D than O , IMHO. Not to mention, his backing up Gdula @ QB. With him in there, there was no dropoff at QB. May even have had a better downfield ball.

Manfred,

I think I misunderstood your post. I assumed you were calling him an elite level wideout when you said the 'the competition would be glad he's gone'. He fit in very well as a possession receiver to compliment McCombie's downfield abilities, as his hands were the best on the team. I agree with you, he will be missed at backup quarterback. He had more raw ability throwing the ball than Gdula with his arm strength and size of his hands. However, Gdula was/is a much better decision maker, and Helsel fit in elsewhere in the offense.

I still think Bailey severely under used TE Chris Gallaghar. In some ways, he was the best 2-way player on the team, and got the least amount of attention. Hurting his wrist late in the season didn't help either.

Crimson i always wondered the samething with his 6'1 210lb frame he would be set for that position. He doesnt fear contact at all so he could be a mixture between speed and power.

I know? He is absolutely my Running Back if I'm Johnstown's coach. He's a beast.
