If Pitt fires Dixon it will be yet another in a long string of strange behavior by that athletic department. And anyone who wants him gone is equally as clueless.

I think we will keep Dixon haha. The athletic department isn't that dumb, I should have told Steve Pedersen when I met him at the pregame party for the Pitt-Butler game donw in DC. But its just these ridiculous fans that call in on the fan, that know nothing about Basketball and look to take jabs at their own team. Ron Cook wrote a similar article to my rant the Sunday after Pitt lost. And some of the e-mails he got were a straight up joke.

Any Pitt fan who wants to get rid of Dixon is a complete moron and doesnt remember Pitt prior to the ten years before Ben Howland was there. With the help of Howland, Dixon has that program among some of the elite programs in the country. I think they will be in the final 4 within the next few years.

Khem Birch seems a little raw after watching him for a bit in the McDonald's AA game, but he was in there banging and getting boards. He's going to be a good one....Better than Dante.. :roll: ....Taylor.

The only question regarding Birch is will he be wearing that Double X white long sleeve t shirt underneath his uniform at Pitt. That's the first time I have ever seen anything like that.

I enjoyed it for last night because he was easy to pick out, but thats gotta go when he gets to Oakland. I don't like the under armor long sleeves either, a few guys have been wearing lately.


From seeing him play, He moves well. He's very energetic and gets down the floor quickly. He is as athletic as advertised as well. He can block shots and really be a factor in the facet of the game. I mean to get 15 points and 10 boards in an All Star game as a Post is pretty impressive. Guards never give up the ball in those games. But Birch has good instincts and athletic qualities. I don't see him as a Starter right away, but could see him getting big minutes all year, and by his sophomore year be that McDonald's All American we've always wanted. I mean I genuinely don't like Dante Taylor that much, but I honestly view Birch as a better player than Taylor already. I don't see the let down in Khem that we got with Dante. I could be way off, but this guy does a lot of things well.

Penn State NEEDS to get Jaylen Bond of Plymouth Whitemarsh. He was a commit of ours, but with Birch moving from the class of 12 to 11, forced him in a bad situation being the same position. Also we over recruited so losing him isn't a huge deal. We still need to shed one more player. He just de-committed and has declared he will attend Prep School for a year. He can not attend a Big East school now, but he can attend Penn State. After Birch, I was most excited this guy in our recruiting class. He is an absolute freak and can really jump out of the gym. I mean not saying it WILL happen, but Derrick Williams of Arizona was an unheralded 3 star prospect from HS and went on to Arizona and is now regarded as one of top prospects for the NBA. Now most likely this will never ever pan out for the Nitty Kittys because they aren't so lucky. But this guy has potential. And I don't see him returning to Pitt after Prep School.

He is an IN-state player with a world of potential....A player PSU can build on and a good entry to recruiting solid Philly area players. Anymore, Philly..Not NYC has been the more impressive city for talent, IMO.
