He already said he won't coach there, only teach. Well, at least for now.coachcarter wrote:Heard they hired a certain Crusher D coordinator to teach math at Westmont. Just saying......

That is interesting jack daniels. I wouldn't think that with his experience the topic of coaching didn't come up at the interviews. That is usually a selling point when applying for a teaching job. I suspect that was said so as not to make things uncomfortable at the school. But i don't see Westmont having any kind of a successful season and expect another house cleaning within the program for next year. Then we will see if he coaches. I have a hard time believing that he wouldn't coach if offered. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he is a hell of a math teacher and was hired strictly as a teacher and not a coach.

He was still at McCort conditioning practices all summer long, and will be there helping for much of camp. In his contract with Westy he can continue to coach at McCort until the school year begins.

Can he root for the Crushers during the season? And during the Westmont/McCort game this year, can he sit on the Westy side of the bleachers and send secret signals across the field to the new McCort head coach?
Re: westmont football future?????
The powers that be on the hilltop have agreed to allow him to sit on the Crusher's side during the first and third quarters and the hilltopper's side during quarters two and four. All Friday night games he will only be required to stay until half time (that's the Westmont way). He may go to the Haven MWF AND Westmont Gardens on Tues and Thur. He must eat at least three SUBWAY footlong subs per week. He will be allowed to display a crusher yard sign at his home as long as he also installs a "Save Westy" sign. He must also drive the fire truck during all Saturday games at Price field.

Thanks for the info jack daniel. That is interesting. I heard that his heart lies with McCort but you have to pay the bills. Bet it was a tough decision to leave. What is your opinion on next year if the current staff is gone at Westmont like we all expect? By the way great post reugenev.

Look at Tim Regan, you think his heart doesn't lie at McCort? But like you said the bills need paid. And if the staff is gone at Westmont next year, I think they'll make a strong push to get DelSignore to take over the program. Will he take it? I don't know, I think it all depends on the dollars. And I think it would take a big big paycheck to get him to take over the program. His heart will forever be on Osborne Street, that can never be changed. But as a player who had him as a coach for 4 years, my freshman year was his last year as a freshman coach at McCort, let me tell you this if Westmont gets him as their head coach they've got one hell of a coach that can turn that program around.

Re: westmont football future?????
The problem at Westmont lies in the attitude of their fans. I love going to Saturday afternoon football games and have attended many since moving to Johnstown. last season I was just in shock at how Negative the fans were in the stands, I know that no high school football fan is usually a fan of their Head coach, but it was just a bad atmosphere in general. I remember early in the season vs BC Westmont had a 7-6 lead and all I heard from ppl around me was complaing and criticizing. The Hilltoppers did end up losing and the score ended up worse than it really was, but I jst did not feel like the crowd was supporting their Kids.
I don t know coach Glennon or any of his assistants or any ofthe kids for that matter, but it can not be easy to build a winning program with that much negativity.
I use Ferndale as my other example (i also have attended my fair share of their games) While there is grumbling about the coaching those ppl still outwardly cheer for their kids, and after all isn t it all about the kids ??
I wish the Hilltoppers well this yr, and will be at my fair share of their games.

i agree with you, you hear the parents yelling at the coaches and players 24-7 its terrible. Westmont parents are the worst in the state lmao! they need to shut up and let them play ball.
