Eagle, I thought (and told by a friend whso father was once on the CR School baord) the MAC got cold on CR but it would be the best short term fit. Ghost the Bishops (class A) do just fine playing in the AA-AAA LHAC and yes I also believe that CR only wanted to play small AA and larger A (public) schools

Staying out of this one except to set some FACTS straight.

CR WAS in the MAC....They never played a game, it was very brief (months), but they were in, had a schedule and wrote a letter pulling out of the conference all within a couple months after the MAC's unwillingness to schedule with the ICC caused a reorganization of both leagues.

Central, Penns Valley, BG and C.Ridge were NOT kicked out of the ICC. Has anyone that reads this board ever heard PV, BG, or Central cry that they were kicked out?

CR was not kicked out of anything....what did happen was they were the one school that didn't get their "preference" of the two leagues when reorganization was forced and that was very unfortunate for them.

NBC and Everett did provide an alternative scheduling plan for consideration that would have kept CR in the ICC but would have also created an open date each week that would have to be filled by schools on their own. This plan never even had enough support to come to a vote, unfortunately for CR and the Bedford County rivalries.

What did CR in were a couple things:

1. Penns Valley surprisingly opting to go to the MAC giving the ICC odd numbers.
2. Bellwood then opting to stay in the ICC creating, at that time, and easy cutoff and "even numbers" of A/AA teams and where they preferred to land.
3. CR turning down overtures from the Tri-Co. Wrestling league (at that time, prior to the ICC all-sports concept, this was basically the ICC Wrestling) and refusing to play certain D6 schools in sports other than football. Example: Until the last year or two they would not schedule Claysburg, 10 minutes up the road, in Wrestling. There was no feeling of loyalty to CR from the D6 schools due to that reason and CR pulling up stakes for greener pastures back when they left the ICC to go to the LHAC...I sensed that a few schools still harbored bad feelings over that situation.

As a result CR accepted a spot in the MAC and were scheduled in. They had to get a D9 school to jump in on short notice when CR pulled out just months later. There is much more to this and CR people see it one way and everyone else on the outside (non CR people) see it another way and there is no point in arguing at this juncture, it's old news. I am just reporting facts.

CR turned down the MAC again this past spring when the Mifflin Co. merger provided an opening and a small number. There was a suggestion that CR approach the LHAC (where they seem to want to go) with the same approach that the Westpac and Heritage used and see if the LHAC would consider an odd number and for football match up in an open date with the MAC (who had an odd number) but I don't think anything ever came of that....and how great, btw would that be....Tyrone vs Johnstown, Huntingdon vs Forest Hills, Central Cambria vs Central, etc.

Until there is a school consolidation or a Hollidaysburg or Indiana wants to come back to the LHAC, there is no real answer for CR which is a shame. A District 5 only league has been thrown around by CR as a solution but in all fairness....nobody wants that. The Bedford Co. schools (minus Ridge) are happy where they are at as are the Somerset co. schools.

Ghost posted Mifflin Co is moving to D4. Is this true? Would D6 just let them leave? I didn't think it worked that way.....

Crap, I did didn't I? I meant to put District 3, but I actually don't know if they are leaving the district completely. They are jumping from the MAC to the Mid-Penn in 2012-13.

What's not factual about my post? I'll be the first to admit a lot of my information is second hand from friends and family around the area and I don't have an inside track like a lot of the posters on this board. I moved out of the area recently, so I'm sure things have changed. If I botched something completely I apologize. Just going by what I was told.
EA,
When are they going to field a varsity team? I think I read somewhere that it won't be right away, more like 1-2 years from this season. Do you think they will be a good fit for the MAC, seeing as how it is predominantly a AA-AAA conference and they will be class A?
I haven't heard anything....but with their location,(State College oferflow, and all other centre co. programs are terrible) I expect them to be above A in a few years.
