WJAC Game of the Week
Re: WJAC Game of the Week
Regardless of how the vote turns out, we will have highlights from the Tyrone-BA game and hopefully with post game reaction as well, just like you would see anywhere else. And for what its worth, the poll doesnt close until Thursday night at 7.

Re: WJAC Game of the Week
I normally tape one and watch the other, which means I must like watching, so somebody is doing a good job both places.
Regarding GOW, I know that it is great for the community when TAJ sends people up for the game and they are doing the live feed, but there are certain times when the game of the week is obvious, and a fan vote can only goof that up. Its alot like the starting lineup in the allstar game. They pick the favorite, not the best player.
I don't live in Blair county, but the biggest game for this week is Tyrone/Bellwood, even if it weren't to win a vote it deserves the live coverage, but I think for trying to get people involved, you are probably doing it the right way.
Just curious (TV channel 6 guy). Has there ever been more votes in a week than the week I was talking about earlier? The fact that I remember it a year after the fact shows that you guys are probably doing it the right way.

Re: WJAC Game of the Week
AML Dude - The game you were talking about between Curwensville and Brockway was some sort of record. I admit it was crazy the amount of votes taking place. We do want to get as many fans involved as possible, not going to lie there. And honestly, most of the time everything works itself out as it should, and the best game of the week is typically voted as our "Game of the Week." This week, it may not, but I know a handful of people in DuBois and Punxsutawney or Richland who feel otherwise. I do understand what most people are saying though.
For what its worth, just so you can put a name or face to the post, this is Matt, and I'm the one who does most of the football live reports. Not trying to be cryptic or anything. Honesty is the best policy and the more we as a station can reach out to the viewers, I think the better off we'll be.

Re: WJAC Game of the Week
Appreciate the honesty Matt. I'll take your word for it that the polls are legitimate. What factors in on which games you choose for the poll, and was there ever a game you were hoping to go to and the voters decided otherwise?

Re: WJAC Game of the Week
Ghost - We decide the top games based on a number of variables; typically its the best records, sometimes great rivalries. As for the other point, I will say that whenever there has been a game which won above a game I maybe wanted to cover, the game which won almost always ended up being a better, more exciting game. I've been very lucky in that regard.
