However in high school it takes TIME to install everything if the time before the first game is shortened there are going to be some very sloppy ugly week one football games and once they are in the season there is not much time each week to adjust and take time to work on fundamentals. That were skipped during the condensed camp. To some people a sloppy football game may be interesting but from my experience sloppy football games cause injuries, penelties, and no one wants to sit in the stands watching people get carted off or every play getting repeated after a penalty. If they want to shorten the season they need to take out a week of games which no one supports. Therefore if something isn't broke don't fix it!
has nothing to do with the level.. the nfl is suffering this year because of the limited contact. teams are averaging 13 points more this year because of the poor tackling that all teams are showing. no matter what level you play, practice practice practice will give results. limited hitting and practice will result in sloppy play at all levels

Only Class it makes sense in is 2A just because of the mass amounts of 2A schools. I mean no disrespect to D5 1A but its pretty much a scrimmage before the Western A Final. But yea 3A and 4A it makes 0 sense to put WPIAL schools in the Western Final.

I do think the season should start a week earlier like Ohio and Florida does.

I didn't mean to send this as a PM deepcreek. I hit reply thinking it was going to be a reg post on the board.

I'd have to agree right now on the A level I guess. D5 A teams have never really had any success against D7, not even a little. I think Windber was only down 7 or 14 at half to Clairton one year, and North Star did almost beat Serra Catholic a few years ago. But, those are few and far between. I would say North Star is going to be very good in D5a and still lose to Clairton/Sto Rox/Rochy by 42-7 score. Just can'tmatch athlete for athlete. Straisser brothers are great athletes though. Put them on a Moon or Thomas Jefferson and they have offers because of the exposure. Just how it is I guess.

I think it also has to do w/ dominating OL/DL play as well. What good is a plethora of athletes if the OL can't keep the QB off his back, and running plays busted up before they start, and DL's that get pushed around so the athletes can't make plays on defense?

True better all the way around. I would like to see a Clairton - Aliquippa game. That would be good. I notice Clairton has made short work of AA Wash High the last couple of years
