Im ganna have to agree that the Portage score will be alot closer than 44-6. I think portage still comes out on top but by a TD or less.

Yoda- CV did hold CT to 14 at the half last week (whereas Windber had 40 by the half)
CV didn't receive any help from the O (20 yards passing??? really? 5 rushers finishing with negative yards).
According to the box score CT had two fumble recoveries for TDs.
Also, a long CT pass play score which I imagine had some errors from CV.
You take that big play away and two costly mistakes by the Blue Jays that is a 14-0 game.
If CV gets ANY help from the O...it could have been interesting.
(That's what I call "Redman magic" (voodoo is the word I think I used)
In your defense I'm sure by the late 3rd and 4th quarters CT had some JVs getting playing time but still. I do believe CT averaged roughly 425 yards of offense per game yet only put up 290ish on CV. From what I gathered from stats and the newspaper - were you that impressed by the CT win over CV?

Nog- I would love to see that senior class leave on a high note but...

Portage NEEDS this win (I'm sure their playoff hopes swing in the balance-at least seeding)
Also, CV has yet to score more then 14 points ALL YEAR (in a single game) - They will need to score a lot more than that to beat the Mustangs (IMO).
I think the Mustangs will be firing on all cylinders.

I'm sure Portage has some things they would like to work on for playoff time so the starters will probably see a lot of time...that's why I said "44."

lol. really, thats your comeback c.v. held them to 14 the first half, had you been at the game you would have seen all the phantom flags pulling back 33+ yds gains, a field they never played on and by 2 min into the fourth had pulled their entire starting team playing against their first string until 1 min left in game. one thing c.t will not do is run up the score, a fumble recovery in the endzone, a blocked punt for a td are not the offense doing anything. had you known who they are playing this week and who was at the game taping it you play the game as vanilla as your can not tipping your hand to n.s. this week. and why do you think the first half went so fast, well since c.v. only had 1 first down it would be c.t just running the ball giving a running clock you cant just look at maxpreps and become a genius, every game has a meaning and just looking at a score means nothing.. and really, take away a passing td. had you been there you would have seen it was a pass behind the line of scrimmage that the second leading rusher in the area took to the house. lets see, if we take away n.s. td last week then they windber wins 21-14 come on man, you really dont want to continue this. the defense scores 2 tds holds them to hardly any offense puts 21 points on offense, calls off the dogs and your seriously trying to justify this as a close game, look your welcome to your input but as YOU said you moved to the area, some of us know the history of many of these teams and just like this week you choose ferndale over united by 2 tds, really. and while we are at it lets take away 3 tds ct scored against windber and let them have the win. so i'll use srv logic and say c.t put 50 on rockwood and n.s. only did 29 so c.t must win... WRONG.. each game in the westpac has different rivalries, each team has certain teams they play well against and others that they can never seem to win, thats the great thing about it

i disagree, jesse will run all over that defense and bryja will have a field day hitting biemle. but thats what you get from srv, a 4-4 portage team wins by such a huge margin, but a c.t. team at 6-1 picked to lose at home against c.v. by a 28-14 score even though c.v. has yet to break 14 points more then once this year. i just dont think they will have enough pressure to get to jake and if they blitz he will pick them apart.

weather will play a part, i just saw that a noreaster is possible starting sat morning so this probably will end up a close game, nothing like the great neutralizer,

Yoda, I just simply asked if you were impressed with the win... no way was I "coming back" at you.
Just curious.

I was not at the game. That's why I asked.

So CT played it conservative... smart.

I was just asking, pal.
When did I claim to be a genius?

GLAD we agree on one thing (Portage-CV)

Plus- I picked United not Ferndale...

most of the statement was your justifying how close it could have been, so that is my comeback, your question at the end looked sarcastical by stating how much less they did, i was very impressed with how they played, they ran the ball most of the time and passed when they needed, again not tipping their hat to n.s. after seeing the n.s./ windber game n.s. was forced to use some plays that i have not seen yet and c.t. should be ready for those, and it wasnt some jv, it was wholesale swap the entire team came out for almost entire 4th, dont want to take a chance of someone getting hurt on a turf field that most have never played a down on, and you did pick ferndale, i always print the first post to put my own notes on, you changed it sat to pick northstar, and changed the ferndale pick monday. :-o :-o :-o i dont want to discourage you from posting and i enjoy reading peoples opinion, but if your gonna highlight the games look it over carefully before you post it so you dont have to go back and edit. ;) i enjoyed most of your posts in the first 6 weeks giving your take, just some games people will get offended at if you try to justify a 1 win team beating a 7 win team. most teams have been shut down passing by c.t all year, windber had 2 yds, rockwood 0, b.v. 47 with 35 coming on a blown coverage, portage 74 with 34 on one play and ferndale 85 with 50 coming on a play against second team defense. this week will be a challenge and i am sure will be well over a 150 yds

congrats to n.s.... may be their first wespac championship and a screw you to stacey smidth, really with 1:38 and a first down at your 40 and the c.t boys lining up to think your taking a knee because your coach signaled it in throws a 50 yd pass, remember COACH what goes around comes around, the most piss poor sportsmanship by a coach i have seen in a long time,

Don't worry, if NS wins the district title they will get their payback.

was it not 4TH DOWN AND 12....then after they completed the pass, they took a knee on the 1 yd. line
