Reading is fundamental. Please re-read my example of New Year's Eve, Simon, and a lady friend. Then come back on here and re-phrase your post. I'm trying to let this die. Don't keep bringing it up. I have lots of ammunition left if you want to keep the endzone topic alive.

....In my example about New Year's Eve, Simon has 3 choices.
....1) Beat the $hit out of the guy
....2) confront him in another fashion
....3) Just keep walking

This post is an example of the "Johnstown Mentality" exhibited in it's basic essence........... jealousy, stupidity, envy, hatred for those who succeed --take your pick. Bickering, infighting, inability to unite and become a cohesive area ----It's what has led to the demise of our once proud area both sports wiise and economic wise. Everyone have their own little fiefdom and do whatever you can to make sure the other guy fails instead of uniting, getting some real competition, building excellence and really achieving something together. With so many tiny piss ant municipalities, twps and school districts there is no sense of community. Many work specifically to see the other one fail. And when someone begins to build something special and have some success, there are always those who reach up to pull them down. Because under the "Johnstown Mentality" failure of the other guy is so so so much more important that you achieving something yourself because when the other guy fails those with the "Johnstown mentality" feel good -- they revel in the other guys failure -- in some sort of sick primordial way.
Sure there is little competition in the area. Sure it is pitiful. It's because of the archaic, backward thinking, turf protecting system that allows 17 seperate and autonomous school districts in an area with a population of 100,000 people -- a system that is taxing its property owners, many of whom are on fixed incomes, to death. Mediocrity is built into the system as kids are flatly denied competition and the chance to achieve excellence -- all to protect a few union jobs.
JHS coaches doing good job. Support achievers instead of tearing them down.

You guys have to understand that coaching at a public school is getting harder and harder, it is not getting easier. The old guard coaches are starting to retire and school's are having to hire babysitters because quality coaches want private school jobs. It has become glorified babysitting in many cases.
