UPJ mountain cat tournament
Re: UPJ mountain cat tournament
The problem isn't Johnstown being in the UPJ tournament, it's the other teams that are there. I would like to see Johnstown in this tournament with one or two high quality teams from outside the area.

They used to bring in a WPIAL team years ago. Don't know why they stopped doing that.

No, say oww and manfred, you are painted with the "R" brush when you are a racist hillbilly who lives in his own little world where you fear outsiders, you control the media (they are one of you) who fabricates an illusion of competition, you perpetuate a horribly fragmented and pitifully watered down academic and athletic system that denies young people the opportunity to develop their potential, you fear any form of true competition --- outside your "own little world" and you detest those who put in extra effort and time to go "outside the area" to seek real competition (in or out of season) for fear that they will develop their potential and "make you look bad". Some people say that there has developed a local "uncompetition club" mentality over the years (related to the insane proliferation of tiny uncompetitive neighborhood school districts) which has resulted in a collective personality defect that derives satisfaction from their neighbors failure.
....I'm not sayin' you are like that......I'm just sayin' that people may tend to look negatively on those who hold the views stated above.

I could care less what you have to say.Manfred wrote:sporty, if you weren't such an a$$ you wouldn't get YOUR panties in a wad every time I comment on what someone other than YOU says.
What are the chances the racist old men from Forest Hills coming down to the basketball game at Johnstown and yelling the same things at the players? I say 0%.

If you think that anywhere in Johnstown is "hood" then you must have never left Cambria County in your entire lifetime.Manfred wrote:Yeah. We avoid the hood. Or hoods.

So basically you just admitted you were one of the men involved.Manfred wrote:Yeah. We avoid the hood. Or hoods.
I asked if they would come to Johnstown for the game.
You said, "WE avoid the hood."
The truth comes out.

who ya got?what to expect?
Johnstown's best player is out until January. He had knee surgery so if there is a team with some inside game they will have a shot to pull off the upset.
