Yeah, people can't keep their yaps shut it's already out here's a link. and it does make sense, Pollard just committed, would a top recruit jump on a nosediving plane unless he can see the rosey other side of the wreck?

If they broke the bank for Sanderson to sell 6200 seats per home event, whAt should they spend to fill the 110000 stadium ?

I don't know a name, but I know it's going to be a big hire that many will be pleased with. People are dreaming if they think PSU is going away. There is a lot of pride in that university and 99.99% of the people affiliated with PEnn State had nothing to do with the scandal. The others are gone. They will bring in a big name. David Joyner was asked yesterday if he still wants PSU to be a team that competes for the top 25. He gave a sly look and said he wants to compete for National Titles. I cannot wait to see the implosion at ESPN and the Pitt Board when it happens.
Saban - I would be shocked if it is him, however he is a coach who moves around a lot. He has always said he is a builder and not a maintainer of a program. He has a lot of respect for Penn State. If January 5th, 6th, and 7th come and go without a coach, I think it's him.
John Gruden - It is rumored that he is leaving ESPN to go back to coach. Most feel this will be in the NFL. However, it has been quiet lately on his front. I would not be shocked if he wanted to work with kids.
Mark Richt - This one, to me, makes the most sense. He has not been extended at Georgia and there were strong rumors that he was the person being talked to when the plane activity and rumors of a coach being found were mentioned weeks ago. Great Recruiter
Bob Stoops - He has been rumored along with his brother Mike to be a package. He is from Ohio. The Big 12 is imploding.
Chip Kelly - President of Nike is PSU alum. It has been rumored that Chris Petersen may be going to Oregon with Chip Kelly coming to PSU after the bowl game.
Chris Petersen - I wish, but I doubt it.
Of course, most or all of these rumors could be bunk, but I feel that one is true and Penn State has their man and has had them for a while. I think we will see what happens early next week. Any of these guys would be great. I will fully believe I am an idiot for believing any of these rumors if a big hire is not made, however I am fairly confident in the information I was given

I understand Penn State is a big time program with pride and money, but guys like Stoops,Richt, Saban, and Kelly kinda have better gigs than Penn State IMO. I guess money tells all, depends if PSU is willing to shell out the money.

And in my opinion (with the exception of possibly Alabama), Penn State was considered as better job than all those jobs 10 years ago. The perception that Penn State does not rank with those schools is because the program has been run by an 84 year old man who was well past his prime and there was no clear leader. In my opinion, the coaching gig at Penn State was one of the top 5 in college football prior to the scandal. The scandal has affected that, but all it takes is one person to see the opportunity that exists and to possibly become the guy who rides in on a white horse and saves the program. Coaches have big egos and love challenges. Just saying.

I dont think it will be a big hire. Unless you consider Clements or Munchak as "big hires" the same way you consider Saban, Kelly, etc.
This was a top 10 job before the scandal, now its probably top 20.

More food for thought. All those trained mokeys on the All-sports network that are flinging all the crap at the wall, work for a company whos' main "Honcho", has PSU roots and ties....is that part of the grand "smoke and mirrors" scheme? Find out in less than 8 days folks.... My money is already down.

TAE - Still want to give the job to Bradley after that disaster? He is now 1-3 as a head coach. He was certainly put in a tough predicament, but I think the entire program needs a overhaul and fresh ideas. I don't care if it's O'Brien, Roman, Petersen, or Craig Sponsky.

Tough to swallow all this, that's for sure.
