Coach Bails out at Halftime

CTfan maybe he thinks his players are not playing up to expectations, coaches have many tactics to motivate. If my son came home and told me the coach walked out on them, my truthful response would be, "Listen to what he is saying in practice, play harder and do something to make your team better everyday in practice". I have been in locker rooms where coaches through water bottles, screamed yelled and walked out!! You know what I look back and think they were right!! The way I performed, I do not know how he could stand to look at me is how I look back on those days. My coach worked with me all week, explained to me what my opponent was going to do and how they were going to do it. He gave me his time in films and then I go out on the field and play as if I was never coached!! I know why my coach left the locker room. My response was to play harder.

I honestly feel what makes coaching so difficult these days is the PARENTS. I get this by experience. We are turning our kids soft. We don't want them to be yelled at or criticized. I most blame this on the moms ( lol..just kidding ladies). But really though, the kids have it too easy.

My son got butt chewed out this past Friday night and I loved it. He deserved it, needed it and he got it. I was thankful that we have a coach that isn't afraid to do it either. When a kid needs a lesson on how to play the right way, needs sportsmanship instilled in him, I want a coach that will do that instead of being afraid some mommy or even daddy will get upset.

I appreciate your opinion and will strongly disagree. Key points after witnessing the game first hand and numerous times on tape. 2 Fumble recoveries by CT not awarded by the 12th-15th man on the field for BLV. One interception by CT not awarded by the 12th-15th man for BLV.
Horsecollar (nonsense call on fourth down awarded to BLV to keep a scoring drive alive) Oh and did I mention the two point conversion which tied the game. Clearly out at the 1 1/2 yard line. BLV own stick workers seen it and agreed with our sideline. Not to mention the film shows this. I wont even get into the numerous random flags and ridiculous spotting of the ball. Again, it is on film and the old adage is film doesnt lie. The ref's were a bit old and maybe a bit out of position to make some calls. That's life and home field advantage I guess.

I found one interesting point in your comment regarding the "stick workers" agreeing?? Are you in close proximity to these men? and again the film shows it you say. I do not think my assumption took a great deal of intelligence to figure out.

Btw ctfan, you thought your coach quit on you? Let me tell you, I was at the CT/Windber game and in that second half I saw more than a few players quit out there. I felt bad for the Cahill boys because at times it looked as if they were the only ones trying to make a play. Especially on defense...

**edit** ok, maybe a bit harsh to say some quit. some certainly didn't play up to their capabilities. i only did this edit because of how soft some of our boys are becoming. that's the only reason..

The middle section are Chiefs comments in regards to the Blacklick/Township game. It is evident that my computer skills are lacking because I do not kow how to do that slick stuff that shows what someone else said in a prior post, but i think you can all see what I saying.

This is exactly why you can't get many people willing to coach. Both parents and kids (players) know more then the coaches. Blame everything on someone else and never look in the mirror.

Looking back I kinda wish I would'nt have posted this. Much the same as politics you have a left wing and a right wing and very little in between. It is apparent that a coach is way beyond being questioned no matter what the situation. I suppose if I roamed the sidelines I to would not have to answer to anyone concerning anything. Is it so difficult to stomach a different perspective. After all this is a open forum and if you only wanted one point of view it wouldnt be a open forum. Someone once told me you can learn something from everyone. This thread was not meant for a bash session, nor was it meant to have kids in the discussion. So to the studyhall kid I suggest you concern yourself with your school work. For the faculty, I suggest the same. To the administrator, of the site, maybe you could delete this whole thread. Lastely, would someone please start a new topic for discussion. It would be appreciated.

Chief - you make me laugh, you make hardcore points and then when they are disputed you curl up in a ball and "quit"!! You do not battle back, you do not stand up for what you said, you ask for the game to stop, so you do not get "yelled" at no more. Wait, I might have hit the nail on the head!! Keep battling Coach Zambanini and those Indians who want to stand up for the school and deal with adversity and become a better person. Dig deep I say to the players who want it. Do not look for excuses but play hard for yourselve, your school, your community and your Coach. I say this to all high school teams and players, I say it to my children everyday. No excuses, just results and never ever quit. When you don't give up, you cannot fail!!

Sidewinder I didnt curl up in a ball. If you knew me you would know I am much to big to curl up in anything (let alone a ball). Does that make you laugh as well. My points may be hard core but it is what I see. I am extremely tired of hearing the poor pity me party for coaches. They took the job, their on the field with the kids and the outside opinions come with the territory. If there skin is to thin to take it then maybe they shouldnt be there. If you own a company and the men don't perform you go to the foreman and chew his Azz out. You dont go to the employees. I simply thought that I could walk out on the topic like the coaches did and everyone would say I was doing what I thought was best. I was simply motivating the forum followers like our coaching staff. Figured I would let them determine the correct path.
