It means more than you think, don't look at the whole picture. Look at the LHAC. Do you want 3 sophomores, and two can't dribble? Or 5-6 athletic kids that have some skills? That's the difference in the teams I was comparing.

Scott Holsinger will be playing for CC this year in answer to your question.

Everyone in D5/D6 A thru AAA is chasing Shade and choking on the dust.

Who else do they have besides the Walkers and Fyock? Are they going out and playing anybody this year?
I'm usually impressed with Shade.I expect them to have a nice team this season. Well Coached.

Crimson, I respect your posts, even if it isn't reciprocal. Let me rephrase about the - FH - 9th graders of last year. I'm not saying they CAN't be successful this year, just that it's unlikely. If Lance would keep them together as a group, take their losses this year, and mature more, in 2 years they would be a force. I just don't see it happening. I've been wrong before though. After all, I didn't go to BMCHS.

Lance is a good coach, I think he can pull something together.

Why is McCort AA basketball and A football? i feel PIAA should make a rule that forbid schools from moving ranks in any sport. They should be stuck by population of school. When people see mccort AA in other sports they complain about them being A football. Idc where they are i just feel all schools in the state should be held to one level in all sports.

Konjo,
PIAA classifications are based off of enrollment and amount of teams within a particular sport statewide. Cutoff numbers can differ from sport-to-sport so that is why a school can be A in football and AA in boys basketball. And, male and female enrollments are calculated separately per school, e.g. Forest Hills is AA in boys basketball but are AAA in girls basketball - more girls than boys at FH in grades 10-12. However, a school can always choose to play up in classification, you just can't play down, e.g. Farrell for years in boys basketball.

Somerset,Forest Hills,Conemaugh Township are among the other schools that have that same enrollment type situation.
Basketball's numbers differ from Baseball and Football. I think McCort is the smallest AA Basketball team around, they barely hit the cut off.
