Gold Medal rankings are a joke for one reason..In AA at 275 they have Jon Neese ranked #1. The kid hasn't wrestled a match all freaking year!!! I would like to see one valid reason based on performance during this current season that they can use to justify this ranking. Simon Fowler not being ranked is a shame too. Especially when he beat Art Moss this past weekend. Art is ranked #4 which is a joke in it's self

They have noted that Neese is injured.
They are about as accurate as any other rankings out there. Tell me when is the last time someone has ranked the guys the exact way that they turn out. Granted they don't always have it ranked by who beats who, but when does it ever end up like that. They give you an idea of who is good where. What more do you want?

I know that it gives you an idea the top kids in the weight class. I just think that there are kids missing from the rankings and kids that shouldnt be there.

They shouldn't have someone who is injured ranked #1 at all!! that is like a slap in the face to kids like Terry tate and Mark Anderson at that weight who have been busting their butts all season. Off the Mat rankings are the most accurate there is i believe. These guys are on the go non stop at wrestling matches and tournaments checking out everyone.

Why is it a slap in the face to those guys? Sure maybe if Neese was wrestling now, they could beat him (I doubt it!). But I think it shows pitty to Neese and says "you may be injured, but we still appreciate your wrestling talent."

It doesn't matter who does the rankings--there will always be people left out and people undeservingly ranked, but the rankings are just for fun. Thankfully, matches aren't decided on paper--you have to wrestle the matches. I try not to read too far into these things, as they are not really worth anything (after all, they are just other people's opinions). I have mine, you have yours, and that guy over there has his. We do not always agree and that's what makes us individuals.

If Neese was a returning state champ i would be fine with the ranking b/c he would have earned it. he hasn't earned that ranking this year

He hasn't earned it yet.... but a lot of people thnk he will. Heavyweight in District 6 is tough this year, and even tougher in the Southwest region.
