Shade 78 McCburg 49.

Sorry Oldy I don't mean to laugh but come on

, Shade by 8. I've seen Shade several times this year. No one is coming close. This is their year. I believe they could contend in the LHAC this season.

I agree with that. Shade could be ropes in with McCort,Carroll,Johnstown,Penn Cambria, and BG. I think they are better than Somerset personally.

I saw Shade play for the first time last night, the game was close until McCburg had to set their point guard due to fouls, McCburg was forced to use a freshman to run the point and guard Fyock, that is when the score opened up, fyock took many shots to get his points. For all the hype given to Shade this year, I was not impressed. they should win District 5a, but I have seen many former D5 teams better than this one.

I've seen Shade a couple of times and was very impressed. The times I have seen them they were patient on offense, rarely took bad shots, played tough man defense, and were very unselfish. Don't kid yourself, there is no way McConnellsburg was going to stay with them, even if their point guard wouldn't have been in foul trouble.

Was you at the game? Shade should have been able to put this game away from the beginning but couldnt. All i am saying the game was tied 14 to 14 after 1. Mccburg sat their point because of fouls, didnt have an experienced back up, without their starting point Shade was able to get turnovers and Mccburg couldnt run their offense and then Shade opened their lead. McCburg was a number 8 seed that had lost to hyndman and sf by 41 in games that were not even that close.

Doesn't matter what the score was after the first. Obviously Shade stepped it up after that. Point guard or not, McConnellsburg was never going to stick with Shade. The Shade coaches made the right adjustments as the game went on. Hyndman was only up on Fannett Metal 11-7 after the first, but they kept the pressure on, on defense and made a few adjustments on offense and blew out Fannett Metal. It's what a team does over all 4 quarters and the adjustments they make, not what they do for 1.

From top to bottom the teams in d5 are not very good this year. Shade should win 5A. Fannett was getting blown out a lot at the end of the year. Hyndman beating them did not surprise me. But Hyndman is not real good either, play some defense and they get beat. 5a should come down to Shade and Shanksville, I have seen both teams and not impressed with either one, but I will save judgement till I see how far they go in the states.

Now you guys are getting ridiculous comparing the west pac to the lhc. That is apples to oranges. And by the way you love carroll, but remember somerset pounded them at home earlier in the season. Also somerset dealt with injuries and suspensions with kids that hurt them too. Saw them scrimmage ct who is every bit as good as shade and somerset was clearly better and barnes and boyer played each other and barnes got the better and is only a freshman. He was injured as was mostoller and wilkow was off the team. They still have guys on there bench that would be stars in the west pac. So talk apples to apples when you compare, not apples to oranges. Yes shade and ct would compete in the lhc this year, but to be better than top teams is ludacrous. They are in the richland, bedford, fhills, westmont category of the lhc. Not the top teams. Also you saw what somerset had when they played shanksville already this year and it wasn't pretty and shanksville gives shade all they can handle and ct. Big difference between west pac and lhc.

BBrian, Shade was state ranked for most of the season and Shanksville has been an honorable mention all season. Not to shabby representation by D5.

I hope the D5 single A runner up beats the D6 champ in first round of state playoffs
