Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
I gotta say I think it would be smart if West Shamokin to follow suit. I think they was attempting the move the last go around.
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
Unless the Armstrong School District cut a big hunk from West Shamokin High School territory, West Shamokin will be class AA this coming alignment because Elderton students are now attending there. The Heritage frowns upon AA Ligonier being in their conference. I don't know how they feel about another AA school being in it. Of course, Ligonier is a more potent team than West Shamokin so that can be the real reason Liggy is frowned upon. Then the question is "how long will West Shamokin High School be around?" The Armstrong School District has plans to eventually (I think pretty quickly) put those students in the new high school. I'm sure the Heritage doesn't want to make all the plans to accept a school, then they will be gone tomorrow.
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
Rich don't tell me how "potent" Ligonier is. It's a lot easier when you are double the size of most of the teams you play. They talked all that garbage 2 years ago about how they out grew the Heritage and were going to the LH. Then went to Richland and got their asses handed to them. Then they came crawling back with their tails between their legs. GUTLESS

big ben 7
Yes, Ligonier hasn't been able to adequately compete in their own classification which is AA.
And to their athletic director's dismay, their high school won't be a class A enrollment for many years to come because the PIAA class AA cut off keeps decreasing. I wonder how much longer before the Heritage pushes them out.
Still gotta say that Ligonier is more potent than West Shamokin.
West Shamokin had their best season in years last season when they won 3 games.
Each of the four seasons before that they won zero games.

Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
WPIAL Board of Governors has unanimously voted to allow Leechburgs withdrawal from District 7. If District 6 committee votes to accept them, Leechburg will in essence replace Laurel Valley in the Heritage.

How will this affect the Heritage /WestPAC scheduled games?
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
The WPIAL Board of control will release Leechburg effective July 1, 2014. The Heritage/Westpac games for 2013 would not be affected.
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
That brings up some interesting questions.CRBL Baseball wrote:How will this affect the Heritage /WestPAC scheduled games?
Will the Heritage accept a struggling class A team from the LHAC rather than Leechburg?
If another team is accepted into the Heritage the crossover agreement is over. That will cause every team in the WestPac to have an open date. Will the WestPac be looking for another team for the 2014 season?
And another possible twist:
Will there be any teams from the Heritage wanting to join the WestPac? If the WestPac accepts them that will create another opening in the Heritage.

Will Rockwood have enough boys to continue fielding a team?
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
I was thinking the same about Conemaugh Valley.
