Altoona and Mifflin County played even on the scoreboard in the first team varsity portion. Overall, Altoona had 3 TDs, Miff County 1TD.

Altoona moved ball better and contained MC better, so if it was game conditions, Altoona would've likely won by a TD or two.

It's difficult to tell in a week one scrimmage how a team will shape up.

First O moved ball pretty well, scored once, but looked a little less polished (as expected after a week of practice and even less of contact). I think first D only allowed one positive play and there were no scores. Starters only played 2 series. All in all not too bad.

Ferndale at Williamsburg They only ran 2 sets of 10 plays each with the first teams. Wburg scored on 6 of the 20 plays they ran and completely dominated the action. Ferndale dressed only 15 players. Wburg looked sharp against a weak team so you never know.

Out of the Bishop Mccort, Chestnut ridge, and Ligonier scrimmage it looked like ligonier was the best team there. Mccort looked like they had alot of skill just werent very sharp its the first scrimmage of the year so things will definitely change. All three teams were quality teams very good scrimmage.

HSFootball88 wrote:Portage looked very strong against Tussey. Bryja was not at the game for some reason so Dividock played QB. He threw one pick but looked good. In the Varsity part, Portage outscored them 3 touchdowns to 0.
Michael Bryja wasn't in attendance because he had to attend a weekend Church Camp for Confirmation.

Went the McCort scrimmage, out of the 3 teams McCort was very weak, their line was pushed around both sides of the ball, very weak at qb, saw a lot of arm tackling and McCort players being run over. Nemo did look good at qb but won't last the season if he took the hits like the ones in the scrimmage. Looks like a long season for McCort, Maybe not having JD Jones as part of the coaching staff is harding the team. What happen to the Jr. qb from somerset? Was he hurt?

Rumor is somerset qb is suspended for the first 3 games. Guess we'll find out August 30th!
