I think we can all agree, Anaheim should wear the jerseys from last night from now on.
I'm still so up in the air on what is going to happen with Maatta. I know the history of young players, especially defensemen, wearing down by the end of an 82 game season. I know he probably should be sent back down. I know he probably will be sent back down. I just have this gut feeling he could actually be the exception to the rule. He just seems like he "gets it".
In a perfect world.... keep Olli up. Ship Letang out West somewhere for a top 6 forward and a pick or two. Addresses the cap situation and adds some depth upfront. I'm more or less just thinking out loud but I wouldn't totally disagree with something along those lines. I like Letang and recognize his talent but it just seems like this team plays much better defense without him.
On another note... I would be 100% in favor of Engelland playing 4th line winger in the playoffs. It gives a little insurance policy on the D. It's easier to play down a forward than play only 5 D for an extended period.
