Re: D6 Championships
I'm actually happy in a way that this years Class A D6 Championships features 2 new teams that haven't been there in a very long time. I'm not a big BG fan but I am even glad for them to be in the finals. And hats off to Homer Center, they took on a tough BC team and dominated them to advance to the finals. One of these teams will know what it feels like to win at Mansion Park this weekend on the biggest football stage in Central PA.
BG's first district championship appearance since 1991
Homer Center's first district championship appearance since 1994

Can only hope that the weather is better than last year and that the game doesn't end up 54-3 again.QuoteTheRaven wrote:I'm actually happy in a way that this years Class A D6 Championships features 2 new teams that haven't been there in a very long time. Re: D6 Championships
I hope it's a close game. I think it will be. Homer Center is starting to make me a believer over the past several weeks and I like small-town football teams. BG is good, darn good. I seen this team play last year @ Bellwood-Antis and they gave BA a good game. BG returns a lot of players and has a very legit team. It should be a good one.
I'm very anxious for the Richland-Central matchup. I've seen both teams play this year Central vs. Tyrone and Richland vs. BA/Tyrone and this should be an offensive shootout! Both teams have WEAPONS and SPEED!!! Should be fun to watch!

I remember that pl team seven two.. Heck of a team they had that year. Also I agree with you raven, its always great to win a conference, have a great record and all of the other bells and whistles but taking that next and most difficult step leads to some memorable outcomes.. This year we have some new teams that will possibly experience that

Here's the link to D6 Football Championship history since the PIAA started district playoffs in 1985:

Re: D6 Championships
I'm superpumped for next week! All 4 teams from A and AA deserve to be here. 2 heritage appearances in 3 years is great! And a win would out the conference tied with lhac for the past 5 years.
BG is a school who has really grown up these past two years. Most alumni weren't believers before last year, predicting a 3-5 win season at best. And here they are winners of 10 straight.
Richland and central is the must see match up though. Richland is a team that when they play like they did Friday they could win state but if they play like they did against Somerset or Bellwood they can easily lose next week. Central just looks strong! Dominated a very good Forrest hills team!

Re: D6 Championships
Those numbers are a lot closer than I would of thought for A. And for all the mccort hate they only have 5 titles to their name in 28 years.

It's because of recent success 2001-present. Who knows what teams might become a dynasty over the next decade or so. The rate Richland's going in AA we could be "hating" on them 15 years from now when they've won 5 or 6 district championships and we will have forgotten all about the McCort's of the D6 football world HAHAHAHA
